    Noticed this bit :

    "that's a very priveledged position"
So, if I understand this, we're mostly white, mostly male, mostly can't spell, and are mostly not sufficiently computer literate to turn on the spell checker. 'Tis indeed a position vested with a certainly privilege - rarity (I dare hope).

Perhaps the encouragement of the immigration of well-educated, computer literate Mexican ladies is the answer ? Don't know - just trying to complete a system of checks and balances with a quiet suggestion.

To each his own. I didn't see anything else but the slashdot notice. So I read the release notes and then downloaded it to my LINUX machine, installed it, and tested. It works like a charm and I now have better security - thanks to slashdot and, of course, mozilla

I say please put notices like this on the front page . It may not be news for you, bubba, but it surely was for me. As I understand it, the dialogue about new versions only happens on Windows machines - and if you're running Windows you need and deserve all the help you can get.

I repeat, the good guys win in the end - if they have a long enough memory and are willing to wait for their chance. Keep smiling.

I invite you to do the same - anonymously or not. It's easy to start - just take a deep breath, stand up, and shout, "My name is (fill in name here), NO SHIT!" It may help if you do this while looking in a mirror - at least for the first few times.

    Noticed this :-

There's actually nothing wrong with mingling with those of the same interest, in fact quite the opposite. As an analogy, if you are learning how to play the saxophone, are you gonna mingle with sky divers, or other saxophonists?
    Hell of a question ! Sky-divers, obviously !

    Also noticed this :-

"If you have no goal or purpose, then meeting random people is a great way to be introduced to new ideas and perspectives. But if you do have a goal or purpose, then you are simply losing focus and wasting time by being a dilettante."
And I have to say that it worried me. Am I a dilettante if I meet sky-divers randomly (during sky-diving)? Does it make a difference if they are playing the saxophone when we meet ? If I'm playing the saxophone ? Have you tried playing the saxophone while sky-diving ? Is doing such a thing a worthy goal or purpose - or am I simply a dilettante ?

Your post poses more questions than it answers. What tune(s) do you play when sky-diving and playing the saxophone ?

The real questions are, of course,

"When I ask the woodchuck question and then fail to grovel, will I get lashed with a wet noodle? And, if so, by how many people?"

    1. Yes, and the noodle will be soaked in acid

"Which do we kill for stem cells... the old fuckers like myself (jk) or the unborn"
couldn't we at least consider compromise. Consider doing away with the under six months old to obtain the stem cells. The remains could be spit roasted - very tender (a very little tabasco sauce brings out the full flavour) - waste not, want not ... and so on. Would also make a lot of voodoo practitioners happy by supplying them with a logical reason for their rituals. There are other cults out there too, just waiting to help out with their equally daft carryings-on.

By the way, just have to ask what the (jk) in your post means ? Could it be a simple typo ? Did you mean (jc) ? Just curious.
