(I'm basing this on Australian prices - $1.69 for an itunes song $17 for an album). I agree that you do have to include gas and time. However if I go down the street quite often I'll end up going past a cheap cd store, given that I don't need my music ASAP, Quite often, it's possible to pick up cds for $10 - $15 within 2 months of their release.
The thing is, the convenience of not having to go down the street etc is what makes it partially worth it. For these songs though, I wouldn't be surprised if they start having bulk deals after the novelty wears off.
the convenience is worth it. (Some) people were saying that itunes wasn't worth it - why pay the same price per track as a cd for a lower quality version?
If it's overpriced, the price will end up dropping.
Given how many institutions use one of these or both, this will have a big impact on choice. Some of the horror stories that I've heard about webct admin aren't good. On the other hand, there was the Georgia Tech student who found the vulnerability in Blackboard.
Hopefully someone can provide some sort of competition to this company.
is accessibility. These days, a lot of people who use readers complain about programs using images of test for buttons instead of text etc. There needs to be an attitude of addressing people who use non visual techniques for using computers.
An advertiser decides to choose who to distribute their ads through! The cut back looks like it would be minimal. All they're doing is requiring that third parties get permission! There's a million more companies our there that will pay to have their spyware installed using dodgy techniques.
are excellent for getting kids interested in science/engineering. These sorts of things can be modified and are fun to learn so they're perfect. The prices are also relatively modest compared to other expenses.
In an earlier article they said that the launch window was until Oct 15. Does anybody know why this limitation exists? Was it due to access to Woomera?
Other than that, hopefully this will continue complementing the work of Airbus.
but the main thing that frustrates me is the difficulty in storing primitives in sets or as keys for maps. I realise that there are libraries available such as pcj, but it's still annoying:)
the internet is amazing. To be able to view this sort of document almost instantly is fantastic. Thank you British Library.
For those who would otherwise not view these, please do, in addition to the items mtneioned int he summary, there are also originals from Jane Austen, Lewis Carroll and the first atlas of Europe. Amazing.
It depends on how intrusive it is. If it's something like windows xp firewall that was activated in SP2, then it could be useful for lots of users who wouldn't know to install something like adaware or spybot s&d.
quite a few people would use a service like this. Not for anything private, but the same sorts of things that I use gmail for. It would be great to have access to documents at home, work, overseas anywhere!

If there are security updates, the software update should notify the user ASAP. Not everybody checks a news site that would mention FF updates.
Yeah, somebody marked me redundant which wasn't good for my karma ;(
