How far from Zurich or Bern will you be ?
You might want to start hitting the banks - lots of those in Switzerland, but naturally only in the big cities.
Switzerland are german and french speaking but from what I've seen quite alot of people will also speak english. Really you'd need german or french to get by though, you should be able to pick it up as you go along if you have a rough idea..
I think you'd be paid in local currency.
Far as the car goes you could take it but check out the import taxes etc - in the UK you'd pay 10% duty on the value of the car and shipping and then VAT ( sales tax at 17.5% ) on that total.
There are alot of websites out there to help you write CVs, do a local search ( e.g. google.co.uk )
...This idea isn't gonna stop accidents, GTA and vehicle related crime, it just (in theory..) makes it easier to catch the responsible people.
Its exactly the same as the speed camera issue, here in the UK we have thousdands of them, the idea is to catch you speeding, not prevent it.
We have the technology to prevent a vehicle speeding/tailgating etc but we dont use it because the police earn way too much out of speeding fines.
The black box is not a way to prevent crime, just a way to catch people doing it. People are still gonna die in accidents, punks are still gonna steal cars for robberies/ram raids etc.
A free virus program that updates regularly and a free software firewall have kept my system(s) virus free for years.
Of course a little common sense is also handy, which it would seem most "joe sixpack" users don't seem ot have..
Think about it like this, if Linux does ever get popular some little %$&@#? will manage to write a virus/worm/spyware package for it.. its "virus free" status doesn't necessarily mean its more secure, simply that its not common enough to cause widespread disruption.
To me the thing is what can Linux give me over running say XP ? The short answer is nothing. My home machine is used for net access, writing the odd webpage, sotring pics from my camera, a bit of word / spreasheet work... thats about it.. Whats the point in me changing to use Linux just for the sake of it and cause myself god knows how much hassle to get it working ? Until Linux can give clear advantages to a home user its use will never be widespread in the home.
..Is its *far* too close to France.
Only problem is you have to live in france to get the service....
