Fair enough. I suppose they do opt more for the photography than article content. But then, I don't have relatives in India, so I need to get my information from somewhere. Besides, National Geographic sounds so much better than "some guy on Slashdot":)

Hmmm...A few months back, National Geographic had a fairly detailed article on caste in India. I believe the article's conclusion disagreed with you. Although people are trying to change things, caste still matters... a lot.
Events like this make me really appreciate my current TV provider -- one rooftop aerial for local stations and one DVD player for quality entertainment.
Now, if I would just learn Spanish, I could double the number of available channels!

I would rather be able to point back to an incorrect (print) source and say "Ah HA! This is what led me astray!", than scour the web whimpering, "I'm sure I didn't dream that" while the prof flogs me for making up facts to support my paper.
