OK, how can you gripe about editing when YOU DIDN'T EDIT YOUR OWN POST? Did you mean "lack of editing?" If you didn't, then my apologies, but it still doesn't make any sense.
This brings me to the point that I was going to make: spelling and grammar DO matter. This is especially true when you're arguing/presenting a point in a discussion. How can someone take you seriously when 1.) you sound like a retard and 2.) you obviously don't take the time to read over what you've written to check for any mistakes. I have trouble believing someone put thought and effort behind their idea/opinion/comment when the words used to convey that idea/opinion/comment don't make any sense.
...will be shipping new machines WITHOUT Windows installed and deducting the license cost from the price of the machine. It still boggles my mind how I can't order a PC from them without an OS installed.
I see that a couple people have mentioned leaving it wide open. Why is this a bad idea? Liability. I hop onto your network, download kiddie pr0n, then hop off (by law, an ISP must report this if they know about it or else they are breaking the law). You *could* be held responsible. Note that I said could, not will. There are always mitigating factors, but even if you, in practicality, couldn't be help liable it might not be worth the hassle/expense/time to defend yourself (i.e. show logs proving it wasn't a machine you use, etc.).
That is not the intent of the posting, and you know it. It's "oh no! Big Bad Movie Industry is going after someone! Whoa is the persons who knowingly broke the law!!!"
Please, get off your soapbox.
I would definitely get someone to proofread anything you would send to a potential customer so you don't sound like a complete ass or, even worse, a scam artist. I'm serious about that. If you can't take the time to read over what you've just typed and think to yourself "does this make sense?" why would I want to hire you to perform security audits for my company? If you have that little attention to detail, what would you miss when working for me on my network?
Did this really need to be/.ed? Is this to be taken tongue in cheek, or did some jackoff really think this warranted the front page? I don't see any emoticons so I can't tell if this is serious or not. SOMEONE ADD A SMILEY!!!!!!111one
It sure as hell was OK if they weren't under non-compete clauses in their respective contracts. Mr. Lee was, which is why him joining Google is illegal.
And why is this a YRO article? This type of clause in employment contracts is quite common and very legal. Suits like this have occured numerous times in the past. Just because it's "M$" and people want one more thing to nail them to the wall for. Look around and open your eyes, other companies have employees under the exact same terms.
A larger user base makes it more likely that the program will get maintained and improved by the community.
On the other end of that, what happens when interest in a particular open source project dies off? What may have been a "killer app" a while ago may have fallen by the wayside. Now you're stuck with unmaintained applications because you invested so heavily in them.
I know the same thing happens with commercially developed software (Windows 95 anyone?) but I'm talking about those smaller apps that seem to be a great fix at the time, but then interest dies off. Let's take, for example, an app that was written to help maintain your CD collection. You love it and use it all the time. What if there were no one left to maintain it because it was the author's "hobby" or "free time project?"
Just a thought...
The appeal with a Mac Mini is it's size/form factor. WHY is this being done? I'm hoping the title of the article means it's been "maximized" by its size and not it's capabilities. This is just stupid.
Quite possibly the worst example of this is sports games (Madden, The NHL/NBA/MLB YEAR line, etc.). Same game year in and year out (mostly) with major revisions/revamps happening only every few releases.

Thanks for the info. Didn't know this. How recent was this?

It must also be way TOO hard to say "It is obviously way TOO hard...."
If you're going to be a stickler, don't look like a fucking retard doing it.
I always thought you had X days to produce the license to get rid of said violation?

Well, checking the grammAr would be a nice thing, yes.
Point taken. I should have made that clear.

Gee, someone broke the law, got caught and somehow it has something to do with "my rights online?"

That's amazing, I have the same combination on my luggage!

"Obviously though, they're no where near as lousy as Internet Explorer"
Wow, can't believe how skewed the views are here. Is this Fox News or something?
Mind you, I do agree with that point of view and am no way an MS advocate. I just can't help but notice how non-objective this site is.

Needless to say, he's living at home with Mom and you're actually dating women! :-p
I'll be there's a magazine dedicated to petrified wood. Hell, there's a WALKING MAGAZINE!!!!
