    Last I checked, most didn't have support for NTFS filesystems, which rules out Windows 2000/XP/2003.

    how else can you update your system without an applet trusted to do anything?
    A standalone app. Why should upgrading your system have anything to do with a web browser?

    Netscape jumped from 4.7 to 6. But I always imagined it was just to keep pace with Opera and IE version numbers.
