    AINAL, but I don't think they need to change the law. The court would just need to interpret the case where a group of people are posting the same clip again and again as a single, ongoing infringement. Then Viacom would only need to issue one takedown notice per copyrighted work and YouTube would need to take down an infringing clip permanently.

    Just take a look at the monstrosity that is JPasswordField:

    Its getText-method is deprecated, so there goes your IS-A-relationship. For an added bonus, cosider what should happen when you call add(myJComponent) on a JTextField. Anything that forces designers to chop down trees like that is good, period.

    There's no situation to fix.
    If your original work has become derivative due to linking to a GPL'ed work, you have continued to add and modify parts of your now-derived work and later want to remove the derived parts because your business is selling original works, at which point does the work become original again? I looked for the experts, and their helpful answer was 'Fix it'.

    Once you link against it, your work becomes derivative. Suppose you introduce feature A inspired by the GPL library. Then you introduce feature B inspired by feature A. Repeat for C, D, E, F, G... How do you fix the situation?

    The threat of governmental cencorship which leads to self-censorship is much better than actual cencorship; you get almost the same "benefits" without any negative backlash. Just look at the Production Code and Comics Code. Are those what you want? I'd rather get my uncencored games now.

    And instead of a useless one letter rating, give me the entertainment facts that are useful: how many hours until you've seen all the gameplay and how much of that time is spent traveling, problem-solving, killing in cold blood and self-defence, sexual acts and themes.

    Although relatively useless (if not harmful), these checked exceptions lead to a minimum of 122 extra CPU cycles per method invocation.

    I didn't see that number mentioned in the article you linked to. Where did you get that?

    I got paid by a major company in the mobile field to develop Trojan horses for Java, Symbian, PalmOS and Windows Smartphone.

    Wow, I'm really interested in your results. What in your opinion are the relative strengths and weaknesses of those platforms? I've heard Java touted as being head and shoulders above the rest in security, but is it really so?

    My experience with lambdas leaves a lot to be desired, but these examples look suspiciously similar:

    How many other ways are there to do the same thing? Clean, I think not.

    Just do what I do: find the infected phone somewhere near you and then smash it into the ground until it's dead. Afterwards you can also educate the owner not to install viruses in the future.

    On my Nokia 6630, using predictive input is even shorter:

    That's almost a quarter shorter.

    This sentence seems ideal for predictive input because the only things not guessed correctly were the colons.
