The cost of CDs in the UK is astonishing. Its the reason I stopped buying albums. Things are only getting worse as well, given play.com et-la have been barred from importing the cds that allowed them to undercut the uk distributors by upto 50%.

LAS VEGAS, March 3 The SCO Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SCOX), the owner of the UNIX(R) operating system and a leading provider of UNIX-based solutions, today announced it has filed suit against AutoZone, Inc., for its alleged violations of SCO's UNIX copyrights through its use of Linux.
    SCO's lawsuit alleges the following:
    * AutoZone violated SCO's UNIX copyrights by running versions of the Linux operating system that contain code, structure, sequence and/or organization from SCO's proprietary UNIX System V code in violation of SCO's copyrights.

Install a mobile phone inside the unit, which obviously would give the machine an internal modem. Then use a mobile tracking servive to find out where the mobile is if it ever gets inched. http://news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4057,836456 2%255E13762,00.html

Woo, Ive always thought there should be a 'freedb' type solution based upon something like a MD5 has of the actual file.

This looks like a good solution to my renaming problems, if it wasnt for the damn developers not taking into account people who have WHITE ON BLACK settings. Why do people constantly hard code the text (white) but leave the background colour as a system colour. (In my case also white!)

    ARG!

Its easier to just burn a games onto DVDr than it is to install a new hard disk. (Which requires opening your PC, unplugging drives etc.) Id be supprised if they removed the HD due to their aspirations for the xbox to become the center of the home entertainment system. No PVR functionality, cant store MP3s jukebox style. Blah! (Also remember Sony are going to add a HD to the PS3, dont want to fall behind specs wise!)

  13. KISS (or Simular) Player on Suggestions for a DVD Video on Demand System? · · Score: 1

Theres actually a few players on the market that can stream the video from a machine on a network. This would allow you to copy the DVDs to your hard disc, then point these network players at the rips. One advantage is that the players dont have a fan in them, and if you get a network player they are very small. Kiss: http://www.kiss-technology.com/ (Watch out though, the 508 is crippled with bugs.
