Fact is that Samsung created a tablet that looks very similar to an iPad, and that similarity was intentional. Other tablets do _not_ look that similar. And it is obvious that Apple doesn't like it. Whether Apple has a case legally or not doesn't matter that much; the message sent is "if you try to sell devices that we think are copying our devices then you'll end up in court, and we make it as inconvenient as possible for you". There are plenty of other devices where Apple could have sued over the same patents, but they don't because the _reason_ for suing is not the patents, but the similarity of the product design.

As far as "Other tablets do _not_ look that similar" goes Apple would beg to differ.
Yes apple is anti-competitive in the fact that they will drag you into court over trivial similarities. They took the very common flat slate concept and filed a patent on it. One thing they are very good at is using the ideas and concepts of others and claiming them as their own while convincing the faithful that it was all their idea. Prior art be damned. Keep swallowing the talking points of Apple's PR dept. though don't let the facts get in the way.

That depends on what the obvious conventional avenues are. From what I see current conventional avenues for affecting change is purchasing legislation from corrupt congress and senate. So if you really want to effect change you do what the MPAA/RIAA/BSA and other lobby groups do. You pay for legislation. Now whether the multitudes want to band together to lobby congress on the digital rights of the people rather than big media is another story altogether. I try to give to The EFF when I can but that is not enough unfortunately. :( Even Slashdot.. I would bet probably only 5-10 % of readers care enough about this issue to support groups like the EFF. Let alone get organized enough to effect change. I wonder what ratio of Slashdotters income goes to the above mentioned groups that lobby against their digital rights rather than for them.

However TechGuys is a known paid shill. At this point I don't even know why he bothers. The problem with this new filesystem is that it features very poor interoperability with non Microsoft products leaving your data at the mercy of Microsoft even worse than before. A 20B wasn't an option when the project was originally started a decade ago. It was way too expensive at the time. This 12A has simply a large street port and the housings are pinned. After market seals and thats about it. All of the rest of money goes into the turbo, induction/electronics and drivetrain and that will be expensive regardless of what engine is in it.
