Not everyone that goes to college is fresh out of high school... I'm almost thirty years old and my "life skills" are fine, thanks.

But with a 2 year old son and a job, an online university like this would be perfect for me.

That is such bull. I support 500+ users and most of tham can't figure out Windows at all... they are completely helpless when it comes to doing anything outside of their applications (or something new in their applications)

And Windows is hardly user-proof. "Gee, I deleted my Program Files folder and now Word doesn't work. Why can't you come fix this stupid computer?"

They can't even drag and drop without screwing it up. I always end up having them open a DOS prompt and telling them what to type.

On the other hand their dummy terminals connected to the HP-UX system work perfectly, do what their supposed to do, and if they do get messed up I can easily reset them from my desk. Of course some users need a word processor, etc.; and it's them that cause 90% of support headaches. "Where did my file go?" "Windows locked up and I lost my work!" "My PC doesn't boot" "I installed AOL and now nothing works."

PCs are the biggest waste of money in a business environment with the constant support issues, lost work, and vendor-lock upgrade cycles... Wintel is the worst scam perpetrated on the business world in the last 20 years.

Not too bad but you really should have a DTD.

You might be interested in studying the HTML 4.01 specs and cascading style sheets to learn how to write clean HTML without ugly hacks like BODY attributes and formatting with line breaks.

Unfortunately, many browsers don't implement CSS very well. IE, Mozilla, and Opera do pretty well and Netscape is so-so, but older versions of all of them will suck... Nevertheless, CSS is the way to go. HTML was never meant as a style markup language, and you should use tags that reflect content rather than presentation (<em> instead of <i>); use CSS for fancy stuff, it really is easier and better once you get into it.

Oh yeah, I remember why I installed Linux in the first place. Try installing Win98, then MSOffice and then upgrading to IE 5.0. Now run Word. Gee, aren't illegal operations fun? You'd think (if you were a naive newbie) that since they are all MS products they'd work fine together...
