If the @holder chooses to forego your compensation and his property is not damaged and the @holder has in the past made copies available to others (either free or compensated) the @holder does NOT have the right to deny you what has been granted to others. Do not confuse the MP3 issue with the book/collectable issue. Unauthorized/additional copies do indeed damage the original in value.
