My guess is that it would be more likely for state governments here in the US to do something similar just due to the size and differences between the states. Things like schooling and car inspections are controlled more by the states the the US government. The IRS allready allows for paying US taxes over the interent, and states like Mass have state taxes done over the internet. I bet that most of those other things can allready be done, there just might not be a central personalized portal in each state.
Umm, you missed that his laptop had the new heavy 15"/15.4" LCD screen, which was causing the problems. If yours is older then it would have the smaller lighter screen and the hinges would be fine....
Ummmm, you are missing the point here. Its not a remote control. It only gets the mp3s off Windows network shares (Samba even). It does not require you to run stereo jacks into the other room, jut ethernet. You can have dozens of computers sharing mp3s. The quality is great on powerfull systems, my fraternity used laptops to DJ our parties every weekend. We just hooked the laptops to the mixer. We had a big EV rack mounted amp, and two floor standing speakers with 2 15"s in each. The sound quality was fine (just ask the neighbors and the police:))
hahahah this is so funny. I really like the nutty math this guy uses. So funny. I just hope some newbee wouldn't take this seriously, they would look really stupid if they spread this, oh well. Thanks for the laugh.
Why, could you back up your claim? What do you use instead of Samba on your company's unix box? I am guessing that you have never tried the BSDs and are a Linux newbie user or Windows 98 user. I guess that is all we can expect from an Anonymous Coward.
Ummm, correct me if I am wrong, but Linux was created my a non-American, and many many of Linux developers are non-American. Its the same thing on the BSD side as on any other open source OS. Its kinda dumb for a so called expert to have these feelings towards BSD for this reason but not towards other open source OSs and especally not towards closed source OSs. If you want to look for backdoors, the source is right there. If you think that someone has snuck backdoors into code that hundreds of people look at, you are kidding yourself. You should be more worried about those closed source OSs and programs which in the past have had backdoors. OpenBSD has been auditied to a great degree, which is more then what I can say for the Linux distributions or NT. I guess you are risking your income anyways recommending Linux or any piece of software that could have backdoors or simply security holes.
I thought it was kinda weird that only 4.3-Release was in the i386 directory, and the distfiles dir was empty. Kinda bad timing, ftp.freebsd.org was usually the fastest site for me. Off the the mirrors.

Sorry, but there are too many users logged into this machine now.

(ftp.freesoftware.com is off the net for now).
Freshmeat does PROGRAMS, this is an new release of an OS. There is a difference. No one complains when a new Linux kernel comes out and its posted here. This is a big deal to those of us who run FreeBSD, more so then a stupid mir story.
Why not just use a block of aluminum, drill some holes all the way through the side. Put threaded nipples in the holes, and presto you have a dependable water cooled heatsink. Its similar to the water cooled heatsinks on R/C boat engines.

Has anybody gotten SWAT to work with RedHat 5.x? I've been trying forever. It just will not accept my password. I've gotten it to work on my FreeBSD machine, but I've been unable to get it to work on my 3 RedHat Linux boxes (5.0-5.2). All set up the same.

Umm, you can load PalmOS onto it...read first!
This seems to go against that motto those granite heads like to use. Whats the point of encryption if its not secure....
I have to agree, it looks great. I have used this site so many times, its great.

Sounds like a generic term to me, I guess its easy to go after the little guy.
And you have what to back that claim up? Ahhh exactly...

Huh? I just compiled 4.0.3 on FreeBSD-4.3, no problems.
