Dear Sir, as an employee of the Patent Office of the United States of America, I regret to inform you that we cannot award you your patent, as we outsourced our patenting software/database/processes to India.

    Better luck next time,

There are LOT of people living in India. A LOT. Somehow Americans seem to miss this point. It is for that reason, that some jobs will always involve labour. You will NEVER find a self-service gas station. Each gas station will have 5/6 attendants. You will ALWAYS find a security guard posted outside an ATM (this is not just because it may be unsafe, it's actually AFFORDABLE to do this). And a LOT people have servants/maids other domestic help in their homes. Not because they are rich/feudal, but because of simple demand and supply. There is such a huge supply of low-skilled labour, that it comes very cheap.

The one country which is GRATEFUL to America for busting ass in Afghanistan and making Pakistan a 'vassal' state is India. (But then again, all of your software base are belong us so....).

Yea, and a lot of people do. Guess what. There are a LOT of people in India. One billion of them at last count. 35% of these people are rich or middle class, and 75% of the country is literate. That means that 750 MILLION people know how to read and write, and 350 Million people have a decent income. That means 350 Million people have access to "good plumbing" and televisions and computer and mobile phones and all the good stuff. At last count, the TOTAL population of America was 275 Million. You do the math buddy, and do it quick before it gets outsourced.

The reason it's flamebait, is because the people manning the call centres in India don't have thick accents, this is just a load of community bull (much like M$ Sux, and Linux Rulz). Fact of the matter is, that most Indians, LIKE ME, who work in an IT-related, speak pretty fucking good English. Second, unlike most Americans, we've actually travelled between places, so we can hanlde the gap, and we know who we're dealing with. This enables us to get business. But most of you guys don't have a clue about Indians or how they work, 'cept for the crap you're fed on TV. This is why you're losing your jobs. You nothing about your enemy, and can't be bothered to learn.

Ummm no, you don't. IBM bought out Daksh because it wanted to get into the outsourcing thing without having to start from scratch. If anything, they will be hiring more people in India, but without the hassles of adding a new HR dept. to handle those new hires, now that they have Daksh. I should know, my office is about a 5 minute walk from Daksh. (Yes, I am one of "THEM"). Will gladly submit digicam pictures of thse so-called "sweatshops". They are anything but, and that's where the problem lies. You have happy workers for 25% of the previous cost. If anyone should be afraid it should be Amazon....IBM is now handling Amazon's Customer Service...which has been very good till now, mind you. and they outsourced their CS ops to Daksh way back in 2000

I personally don't see a big deal in software cos holding back their releases. I mean one of the reasons (I'll leave the other reasons for the trolls) that M$ software is buggy is because they're under pressure to release to market quickly(Pls trolls, I said this is _one_ of the reasons). And on top that, they wouldn't be able to convince you to switch to BluScreen 12.9a so easily, since there'd be a limit on the versions released....
On the other hand...maybe operating systems should be free and open source...now when will somebody come up with that....

So what happens is that when you put water in the pot, the hot, less dense water evaporates, leaving COOL water in the pot. This has been done for the past 5000 years. I can't fucking believe this actually gets a mention on Slashdot.
