Here is a very good answer to your question. Are you ready? Hold on to your butt! It's the Carbon Dioxide! If we don't care about how much CO2 we produce then we invest heavily in CLEAN COAL which scrubs all the particulate and other chemicals out of the exhaust and then we don't give a flying crap about the CO2. No sequestering anything. Just scrub the exhaust and be done with it. Then the price of power drops precipitously. Get it? Good. Now pass this around.
If this guy wins his challenge against the ticket can we ban idle from Slashdot forever? Just a thought.

No, that's always been that way. I was unemployed for like three months in the last 6 years. I tried to file for Unemployment and I got no response. Since then I consider the amount they take out of my check every month to cover "Unemployement" to be simple theft. The money is not theirs and they do not hand it out responsibly according to the intent of the law. The California EDD is a total sham and a total failure!
I actually think the Government should compete in the Healthcare Industry and offer health insurance to everybody AT COST. This would drive down the costs of competitors and drive up service.
OR you could attempt to contact the remote services servers. If that fails you calculate as best as possible. If after the calculation you find the shipping was actually more then you eat the cost. If it was less then you charge the customer less when you run their card through the batch commit at the end of the night.
Unfortunately GameStop and retailers like it will not accept opened games as returns. This is a complete bullshit policy since if I wanted to Pirate the game I wouldn't start by buying it only to return it later. I would just download it. Whatever their fucking magical logic that leads to such a policy is I responded by saying goodbye to PC gaming forever. I now play exclusively on XBox 360.
The Internet does not need to be regulated. Instead what needs to happen is for all of the major countries of the world (including Russia and China) to start cooperating and prosecuting computer fraud where people misrepresent themselves to steal information and use it for personal gain. These laws already exist in most countries and the goal should be to extend them into the far corners of the globe along with a willing police force or the ability for Interpol to operate where needed.
That's great and all but what happens when it's your wife who has Genital Warts? This happens. Sometime legitimate websites get hacked because the programmers leave them open to SQL injection. Then what? I'll tell you what. Hope you have a secure Browser(Or you are wearing a condom)!
That's right but it detracts from the main point. That is that IE still has direct security holes in it and Browser hijacks or browser add-ons which were installed in a drive-by fashion and cannot be disabled are still common.
Not only that but instead of chastising the one person who sent that file they block all photos from the entire DoD?! What the fuck is the AP smoking? When Hamas photographers doctor photos they only ban photos from THAT ONE PHOTOGRAPHER!
You are correct that the photoshop artist did an incredible job with what they had to work with. The issue is the skin has no texture but then again the original was so low-res that it didn't have texture either.
Yikes. Talk about flamebait. I happen to work at a company which employs two developers and both use Visual Studio 2008 and like it. They are also not incompetent as you say they should be.
Your post does not correlate with reality. The reality is that is is not career suicide to denounce man made global warming.

Ya, $1200 for every version of Windows Server ever made plus every version of SQL server and every version of Visual Studio ain't bad at all.
Only if the ink doesn't just fade away. Older inkjets were notorious for this. One year of use and the print was basically gone.
Family Bibles are printed on PH neutral lignin-free paper and sometimes there is a coating on the edges to keep out dust and chemicals.
It tastes like Grandma!

This could actually work if you company was shipping one of those USB keys with a license on them for software which costs like $10k per license.

I thought the Post Office's motto was "We suck at life so you can feel better about yourself". Boy was I off base.

I'm pretty sure it was "The Spice must flow" but ya.
IE8 is Beta and it introduces so many other bugs that I can't use it? Let me know when IE8 is actually usable.

It crashes and takes down all of your tabs in that session and it cannot remember sessions to restore the webpages you were on later!

Coming from someone who doesn't know that both "seams" and "seems" are actual words in the English Language and I just used the wrong one.
I agree CALs are stupid but I've supported a Windows Serve environment for two years now and never had to call Microsoft Technical Support.
