Google doesn't have ethics anymore so they are just acting as expected. I'm not sure what the solution is though. Nationalizing IP through executive orders would have a chilling effect on innovation.
People don't generally activate Tesla's automation on city streets with traffic control. Street driving is much trickier than highway for automated vehicles to handle.
Can I just say, I told you so? We just had this discussion when the article came up about the CEO of Reddit scripting his own site to change posts. People accused specific pages on Reddit of being full of trolls. I disagreed and said that its very few people who cause trouble. All the CEO had to do was ban these people and it would have actually addressed the problem.
Mod parent up. It's funny that people outside California think California only consists of Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and San Diego. In under an hour you can be in the mountains or desert from almost any of those places. In many cases, you can be above the snow line.
I read your article. Nowhere in there does it say prisoners were waterboarded at Abu Ghraib. Instead they were "Softened up" by using techniques that I don't agree with. That prison was a problem but it wasn't where interrogations took place. Also, the purpose of the stunts they pulled at Abu Ghraib was to prepare the prisoners for interrogation later. Your own article states as much.
Maybe you should look in a mirror some time and stop projecting. This is the link I was referring to. https://www.reddit.com/r/The_D...
Note that it was in June and in October, the media pounded away on Trump's business record by claiming that some businesses were not successful because they didn't make huge profits. Well they employed people and they didn't file for bankruptcy so I don't think they can be called "failed".
Also, when did I say I hung out on Reddit? I don't. That place has too much censorship which is really the point of this Slashdot story. You seem to have missed that.
Why would I even make up something like that? What would I profit? You on the other hand dismiss all opinions you disagree with out of hand without considering them. This is called bigotry.
You are forgetting about the effect of fear on people who have not committed a crime but intend to. Remember, all people calculate risk/reward in their own ways but if the risks are known widely and harsh enough, it may deter future crime.
They were torturing innocent people, not to extract information which could save lives, but as a punishment. Their methods were also not humane. But please tell me more about this false analogy fallacy you seem married to.
I couldn't get the Creator's Update to install until I chased my tail around for a long time and eventually came up on this post. https://answers.microsoft.com/...
What it basically states is that the checker for the update scans the whole hard drive and will block the update just because you have a backup of a driver file that is incompatible even if that driver is not installed nor in use. This is ridiculous but it looks like Microsoft still hasn't fixed it.

How long until the AI targets itself since it is now also preventing peace.
There's always one commentor who can't control him/herself.
I economist could have told you this would happen. Economists understand incentives. If you incetivize the wrong thing, you will get a bad outcome.

Money supply is finite.

Don't underestimate the power of rationalization.

Trump may act out at times. However not everybody who voted for him supports him as a person. What they do support are his policy positions.

That's true. Also, babies usually don't sleep that well.
Did I mention Abu Ghraib? What is it with Red Herring fallacies that makes you keep using them?

I haven't been on reddit for a while. In fact, where I go "Back to reddit" is the meme of choice.
"Put" is used in the past tense. I didn't say it was still there. Google censors search results, you know.
The company will see a problem when more people leave for alternative platforms that don't censor or worse, edit posts.
It led to the release of actual terrorists by the Obama administration so...

I don't murder innocent children for one thing. But ya, other than that, we are all terrorists.
What crime was committed that this was evidence to?

I have like 500 tabs open. Maybe it's that one tab that is requiring 1.9 GB of ram. Or maybe you have a malware infection.
