The movies use the Blizzard downloader (based on Bittorrent) to download the movies. So, technically, they already provided the torrents for you, along with the client to download them. I used them earlier and they worked fine.

You never used the Wavebird for Gamecube did you? It is controller perfection. Gets excellent battery life, doesn't lag, and has excellent range. I blame your issues on crappy third party controllers.
Nor really a gaffe. Did they underestimate the demand? Yes. Did they double their server count on the first day? Yes. And then they game people extra free time to compensate for it. Hardly one of the biggest gaffes of the year.
It wasn't even like the Half Life 2/Steam server issue, the game was still playable, and I never had to wait for long in a queue line, and even those were gone after like 2 days, and only existed during prime time.
It seems to me that they all wanted nothing to do with these awards. Good choice in my opinion. This awards show is a travesty to the industry, and "gamers" in general.
Just look at some of the winners. The RPG winner isn't even an RPG. Mortal Kombat won for best fighting game! The whole show was product placement for whatever game a publisher paid for.
Gamers everywhere died a little inside.
WoW had 500k in just the North American beta. They had similar numbers in Korea I believe. I expect the European beta to have similar numbers. WoW probably has the best shot to be that genre defining title that Emmert said MMO's don't have yet.
The collector's edition comes with the game on CD's and on one DVD. I assume you can just give them one of those to install for the friend trial. Then they just start paying afterwards.
I think I heard that the Stress Test 2 version and open beta version will be the retail version, so those that buy a boxed copy and played in the open beta will just have to use their new key and won't have to reinstall.
I've actually seen empty cars get stuck at the top of the hill, then go either forward or backward about 15 seconds later. I saw a full car with people on it make it almost the full way up the hill and then go back down the launch side backwards. Not to mention the cable snap problem. Those problems and the fact that it has been closed for more time than it has been running have kept me from riding it. I'm sure it's a great ride when it works, but you won't see me riding it.
After thinking about this for a little while, I realized that Sony isn't targeting the handheld gaming market with that price. They can't compete with the GBA or the DS with this price.
They can, however, compete with the Ipod. That is the PSP's market. Whether it takes off or not is another thing. The UMD's will not help them here.
It seems that the PSP was hijacked during creation and went from strictly games to all-in-one media device.
I wouldn't even pay $350 for a home console, let alone a portable. Although considering what the battery life on a device like the PSP is going to be like, it practically is a home console.
I also have a Wega 20 inch flatscreen. Mine is a bit newer than yours, with s-video and component inputs. You're right about how nice they are. I love mine and so do my friends. It was a great dorm room tv and the picture was great, especially for gaming and movies. It's also one of the only tv's I've ever used with decent speakers built in.
While not exactly what you are looking for, Skies of Arcadia for the Dreamcast and Skies of Arcadia Legends, its remake on the Gamecube are about a group of pirates. Granted they aren't sea pirates, they have airships, but it captures a lot of the pirate appeal. Great game. Probably my favorite console RPG.

Damn now the boards are going to be slower than normal. However, 404 Error boards have been linked to on Slashdot. Guess we've hit the big time.
