I live in the UK and now after more and more mobile phone offer services such as Colour backrounds, Java Gaming, Ringtones ETC, many websites have started up to give theese for free through wap, which was the main useage between myself and friends, also things such as Vodaphones "Live" service helps, giving a user friendly portal to services that are actully USEFUL, things like train and bus times etc, and because this is set up through the provider, you are linked striaght into the information service. GPRS also will have played a factor in this as there is no more dialing up, or costs per min. Christ even my mother looks up bus/train times on her mobile, and downloads dodgy ringtones!
Note: The functionality in Xp is limited to burning data and audio (Plus highMAT formats with a plugin) but the software in windows XP is licenced from Roxio
Just so you can read the article found a handy mozilla extension http://extensions.roachfiend.com/ third one down called bug me not, signs you into annoying sites that require registration with a large database of usernames....
From Article: My name is John, and I work on the Internet Explorer team. It's a little hard to explain my actual function on the team, but my current official title is "Development Manager"
Isnt it Reassuring that microsft have such a well organised and effcient team on the case...
I can now say that anyone who had "lost" their CD key and found another *ahem* can install SP2 as long as the second three digit part of their serial is 640, there are tools to change your code and to create one that will have the right 640, also as long as its not one of the known pirated codes.
When i took my higher and advanced higher courses in scotland, we were told about IP and copyright laws, and open source software and the GPL etc was also mentioned... not in the curriculum, but tought none the less.... but that was with the same teacher who helped us burn 25 copys of knoppix and crack the BIOS passwords so all the room will boot from CD.
The SysAdmin (Who for the record has no traning and was a science tech. before the school put in the computing dept.) almost had a fit, and had us all called to the rector for "Hacking" his network, needless to say the rector (Who was an alright guy) couldnt keep a straight face.
