No offense to them lawyers, but, to my opinion a lawyer is more occupied in law and a programmer is more occupied in software. Wouldn't it be difficult for a lawyer to describe a software process while being active in law?
ok, before you bite, there are specialisations ; some lawyers are better in patents, trademarks, assets... but still, would a lawyer be the one (good) person to write down a software process and patent? I think the first problem lies there; by not fully understanding the matter and not knowing what exactly gets patented..
If such measure need to be implemented; why not use encrypted streaming as signal with pki? This key doesn't need to be variable; it can change every 15 minutes or so. Within the time this key got decrypted, the new one is already sent to the monitor (if the cipher is worthy enough); which renders the previous one completely useless + which will make it a hell to hack such system because it's a continuesly race against time..
There could be even an extra button on the screen which could say "authenticate" or so; which would generate a new key directly on demand. This would require an extra module in the monitor for decrypting signals and an extra cpu on the graphics card (or loopback card like those voodoo cards had) which would encrypt the streaming signal...
Of'course; when using a loopback card this needs to be -inside the case- since the loopback is leaky too if external and not sufficiently shielded.
What I still wonder is: what if super super supershielded cable gets used? Or when you put lead alloy around your cables ? (not very environmentally friendly but you get the scope...)
Remember; when you invent such device, prior art lies here, just don't call them monster cables mkay?;)
The radiation goes through the cables of your monitor; wether lcd, plasma or cathode, the signal always has to travel through the wires as electrical current. Just like the hospital can read out the electrical paths on your brain a device can be used to read the electrical current through your wires.
These Van Eck methods are based on amplifying these "leaky" signals; just like a television could receive signal by just running a cable next to cable-tv or neon light goes lit under high powerlines ; leakage...
As can be seen here everyones view is different. Some think an open WIFI is the same as a open door, some say wireless signals are free, some think satellite waves with own-home-rolled-decoder-sets are perfectly fine too; all because everyones opinions and views are differently towards eachother (mostly influenced in the greater good/protection of yourself and the household).
Laws are written as a guide to keep society up and running in normal parameters. Currently laws are being enforced and used to run society instead of keeping peace and order. More laws are introduced to protect the assets of the industries getting -our- money to gain more money...
Law is being abused even more than there are newborns by those which names should not be mentioned; because it is (so succesfully) enforced to run society; with loopholes which would make miss Cleo jealous; it's a never ending circle. Then you got those people who want to "lock-in" society even more to get a more perfect model; which will never work because of the diversity of people; countries got multicultural years ago which cannot be stopped/closed anymore.
Moral of the story:
Everyones opinion is different; some like the color blue, some purple, some like the colour orange; it's all the little differences that make the world a great world to stay in, or a nightmare when others are starting to push their terms and limitations upon others in such way you could say... "alien anal probing is niiice!" (don't even think anymore, just say up loud! those thin foil hats don't work anymore! they are so sixties!)
There has to be a balance; which is clearly missing currently all in the name of terror, loss of sales and protecting the children; maybe our current "leaders" are not sufficient enough to follow technology as it goes and need to get with the program before limiting such?
Hope you don't make (too many) errors, getting people nagging on your back like that, it'd be a shame for living not? And yes, there may be errors in this reply, since I'm not native English speaking and I'm human so I'm supposed to make errors...
Splendid encryption system! You use the English language as code.. You must be German.. right ? because there are words in it that sound German! Your Egg Salad tastes great, I tried it, only the little bit of yahoo can better be changed to a small pinch of Google, it spices the stuff up lots better; My house almost burned down when it started to flame by itself; you got to find a way to loose that side-effect or is it because I used too much Yahoo in it anyways?
Just fascinating! Here is the recipy to proove you, I think if you encrypt it twice people will not find out your recipies that fast anymore, give me credit when this thing gets big mkay?
The recipy:
lot of work, little it of backups, little with of realize.
Some Yahoo unt handrol,
Slash english look then write them in data loss,
Lots of bandwidth has all the gibberish I insert into the good new data so it need to begin flaming immediately
The problem with GoogleFS was that it was a lot of work for relatively little, slow storage. Thus it's main utility -- offsite backups--was of little value. Now with unlimited E-mail storage the value of it for offsite backups is realizable. So would someone please create YahooFS so that I can mount my yahooMail-based file system on my desktop and drag my files across?
Up until now I have been using my own hand rolled SlashdotFS. It works by encoding data into comments. It uses a Markov chain sentence generator to encode data in english looking sentences then writes them as comments in slashdot. I use a redudancy system to prevent data loss if comments are deleted. The other problem is that because the system is write-only, it's means lots of bandwidth for files I change frequently. Even so it works. But the results has been that I feel kinda guilty about all the gibberish comments I insert into slashdot. The good news is that because of the english markov sentence generator, no one can actually tell that it's data so they just think it's some person they need to begin flaming immediately.
In the last version of the program I actually made the post somwhat on-topic by retraining the markov genewrator based on the word field distribution of the thread itself. Slightly slower, but then it looks like a conversation.
I'd feel a lot less guilty if I could use YahooFS instead. ps: aren't there supposed to be eggs in your salad?
I would think that's out of order. Ok to procreate but to create new species is beyond our knowledge if we can't even get our own species settled right. To my opinion and it can sound dark; we should not mess too much with crossbreeding ourselves and animals on foodchain; we'd never know what we would become in the future by one stupid little mistake; If any disease gets spread it might be hell to fix this...
We should not become what we fear the most, movies like the Matrix where humans are harvested sounds very dark for most among us, why would we do the same on partial sheep/partial human chimera? What makes us have that right anyways ? All in the name of science? ok, we need to improve and survive but why not do it on a less risky way?
Nature always finds a way to survive, what if this sheep gets loose and interbreeds, gets >15% human? What if it does not comprehend our actions against its sisters? Does it get civilian rights if it gets to a certain amount of humanity?
Burn the PIRATE, on the staple with 'm! That 7yr old is for sure a PIRATE, fire 'm up, hang them all, don't let any alive! That will teach them leeching hiding PIRATES !!
(note the sarcasm.. still.. same draconian laws are being fired towards people that still need to learn to grow up instead of be teached by a corporation how to grow up! them kids got parents for that; not the RIAA or equivalent with a lesson/outcome even greater than a rape or two; is this the modern IP inquisition?)
To my opinion slicing open throats does not really count as "adult expectations" to me... Neither does the music industry show any proof its ran by adults, which is as murderous as above...
You assume to know; although; I've got 2 IT people here with me; already for over 10 years active in the field and they've asked ME what SAP was; so don't assume others presume the same ; because such expectations only fail if you find out those assumptions (and presumptions) are flawed...
If you want to assume something; assume something people DO know for sure; but don't "assume" everyone is a walking dictionary/thesaurus/abbrevations guide; don't assume your standards upon another; it's what this world makes rotten; overexpectations of others without thinking about any other factors; maybe presume would be a better world in this context since it's meaning is less aggressive towards its expectations....
Tolerance is another something which doesn't get thrown in enough when such expectations are not met; which makes people often striving upon eachother instead of working together to still meet the expectations of another; some of these people call this healthy competition.. heh...
To my opinion this question was a very valid question which will educate the other slashdotters who DO NOT know which SAP means ; by all means, it's a question which is fully on-topic and should not require further research (leaving the Slashdot realm) before studying its acronyms or content; I'd presume the needed links will be made for me as/. reader so I won't need to go through all those hula hoops to find out which that one acronym means...
I will always keep remembering the quote "Assumption is the f*ckup of mother nature"....
How exactly would the wireless signal get through the house with a (full) metal shield around it ?
at least you could have said CGA or EGA instead of boring Hercules ;)
