It still is difficult to leave C. Object-oriented languages go to great lengths to hide data (That object is off-limits boy!), but sometimes you need to access data, that too, immediately. That you can get only C (and in that ugly kludge, C++).
Of course, you can also build object orientation in C, it is difficult, not impossible. Just look at the Unix file system and drivers. It uses both delegation and reusable classes. I know atleast one professor who taught object orientation with Unix file system as example!
Losing privacy in public is fine. But what about lose of privacy in your own home? A cell phone in hand does not mean that I *am* carrying my own cell phone.
What if my cell phone is stolen and my boss is still "tracking" my cell phone? What if the thief goes into areas I don't normally venture? What will my boss think?
Umm, what about the dollars that Indian and Chinese government have bought? 100 billion and 400 billion in *dollar* reserves is not buying US debt? And how are these parked? By buying US debt paper!
You're joking, right? Could you imagine the panic that would ensue if Microsoft tanked in one night? My god, it would be like the apocalypse hit Wall Street.
Stock market is not the economy. People will still survive, live and even trade! We would just get rid of bunch of finance pricks.
Their governments have this weird concept of doing what's right for their citizens. Washington needs to realize who has elected them, who pays their taxes, and, incidentally, whom they swore to serve in their oaths.
You don't want to go there. Governments don't do what is right for the citizens. They do what the citizens ask them to do, which is rarely the same as the right thing. Ask us, we have 40 years of history of our government "doing good." Our economy slumped, our jobs went downhill, our private enterprise closed down. Our trade with the world went down from 10% to less than 1%. All this was result of government activity/concern for its citizens.
Doesn't look like anything at all. Site is down!!

So true, unless your project becomes famous, you have no scope for earning money. Have-a-day-job still holds for most of the open source developers.
I guess this comes from speedera.
