Maybe it's not so much a question of priorities but just that the media is getting tired of reporting news of bombings, shootouts and beheadings?
The media will never tire of bombings, shootouts or beheadings. At least until the next high profile celebrity criminal case or politician-based sex scandal.
Damn, the guys with these empty weapons must feel like complete morons.
Or sitting ducks.
Think about making yourself the absolute most inviting target, without the ability to actually use your weapon, just to try to make people feel secure. I'd say these "monkies" deserve a little respect for that alone.
By invading Iraq he's turned it into a hotbet of terrorist activity.
That's right. A hotbed of terrorist activity. All that terrorist activity in Iraq probably distracts people who may otherwise use their time planning, commuting to the non-Iraq country of choice, and attacking people other than soldiers or infidels in Iraq who know it's dangerous but still go there, instead of people sitting at work, drinking their coffee, trying to put in a full day's work, and then getting hit by a plane.
In addition to keeping terrorists occupied to some extent, the action in Iraq may also be making many terrorists act hastily in anger. Agry haste generally makes for bad planning. Bad planning leads to dead terrorists.
He actively made the world a more dangerous place.
What? By making sure a certain uncooperative past-user of Weapons of Mass Destruction doesn't have the capacity to deploy said weapons. Regardless of whether they were found. And here's an excerpt that indicates they were.
But another reason for the media silence may stem from the seemingly undramatic nature of the "finds" Hanson and others have described. The materials that constitute Saddam's chemical-weapons "stockpiles" look an awful lot like pesticides, which they indeed resemble.
"Pesticides are the key elements in the chemical-agent arena," Hanson says. "In fact, the general pesticide chemical formula (organophosphate) is the 'grandfather' of modern-day nerve agents."
Or perhaps you mean the decline in the number of terrorist attacks over the last 2 years.
it was oil, plain and simple.
Then perhaps the US should have invaded Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Canada, Venezuela and Nigeria, then invaded Iraq. here

Some Slashdotter has a sig line that reads something along the lines of [paraphrase]Those willing to sacrifice freedom for securiy deserve neither freedom nor security.[/paraphrase] Ben Franklin (If memory serves)
And another has a sig line that says that people recognize posters by their sig lines. Which is true in at least two instances.
What he says about jobs in the security/defense industries is true. He makes a statement as to his opinion of which person he thinks would be a good president for the US. Something a fair number of people may disagree with. But matters of opinion shouldn't be the reason for moderation at all.
Flamebait would be more along the lines of...
You ignorant mother f****rs should quit your belly aching and get off your ass and get into the defense industry. Those jobs'll never get outsourced to the f-n dot-heads. Especially if you doofuses vote correctly and choose Bush, not that flip-flopping millionaire with the charisma of a mackerel.
Multiple barrels does not necessarily mean multiple firing mechanisms. The gun on the above mentioned A-10 has multiple barrels.
The barrels rotate around a center point lining themselves with the firing mechanism. The multiple barrel configuration is neccessary (I believe) for sustained high rates of fire, minimizing the deformation of the barrels caused by heat.
They had armor piercing ammunition before the type mentioned by parent. The problem the new ammo addresses is overpenetration.
A cop with standard AP rounds shoots bank robber in full body armor. Bullet goes through armor, then bank robber, then armor, then bank teller.
Potentially dead bystander.
A cop with this newfangled round shoots a similarly armored apponent. Bullet goes through armor, lodges itself in bank robber. No dead bank teller.

(1) inhabit an unfallen, sinless paradisal world;
(2) who therefore we must contact not to propagandize, but in order that we may learn from them the conditions (about which we can only speculate) of creatures living in perpetual grace, endowed with all the virtues in perfection, and both immortal and in complete happiness for always possessed of and with the knowledge of God."
what about option c-2.a?
Leave them alone. As we might introduce original sin and screw up their unfallen sinless paradisal world. They'd probably really appreciate that.

A farmer who grows substance.
The guy probably meant subsistence farmer. A farmer who grows barely enough to live.
Please Read the second quote.
The workers can also lose their lives - Joseph Stalin

Take away the psycho's guns and give them a potato.
Never underestimate the hazards of a determined psychotic armed with a potato.

The best response if someone says this about something you made is "Hey, you must be proud of the talented little bastard."
