Microsoft still makes MSN Explorer for the Mac and that is wher I think Microsfot wants its existing IE users to migrate off to. By opening the code for IE up they creating competition for MSN Explorer as well as risking people improving IE for Mac and then porting it over to run on Windows.

I thought the grandfathers post was about the technology itself so I argued that it wasn't restricted to being used by Sony only. I just re-read it and it seems he was talking about the connecters li-ons use.

I can't reember why but theres some chemical limitation that prevents Lion tech being housed in cylindrical containers, hence why we can't find AA or AAA sized li-on batteries. Its a pity because if it wasn't for that we would probably have a standard form factor for Lion that all manufacturers could use.

Are you sure the amps and voltage were the same? it sounds pretty dumb that they wouldnt allow the cheap laptop to use the expensive battery when it costs more and would net them more dollars.

My comment was based on TFA and what I read previously. The Blu Ray consortium only agreed to support VC-1 on the condition MS stayed neutral to both formats. I wouldn't pay that much attention to 'may not include region coding'. There a region free coding for dvds already (0) but how many top line dvd movies do you see designated it?

When microsoft launched the xbox, they said region coding would not be compulsory. How many xbox games are region free? of al lthe games i've reviewed I've only seen one and that was an early version of Mech Assault.

saying something "may not" not have something only has a tangible meaning if they are serious about it, and going by past microsoft/dvd publishers actions they havent demonstrated it very well.
