So THAT'S what OS stands for. Thanks also for linking to an overview on Wikipedia, since I had no idea otherwise! (initially thought DDOS was a type of OS).
There is nothing wrong with a Basic Universal Income, or negative income tax to help offset the coming automation revolution. We can start by offering a small amount (£20 per person, unconditional), and increasing gradually as more jobs are automated.
Could that 'warmth' simply be emulated by an adjustment of the equalizers? Perhaps an increase the amount of bass or mid-range may get the effect you're looking for.
If so, digital can emulate the older vinyl, but the reverse isn't true.
WebP is much worse. For example, try the 'Clovisfest' picture, and set quality to small, or especially 'tiny'. BPG is so much better it's not even funny.
We don't control robot vacuum cleaners either, yet it makes more sense to buy one than to rent one because although it seems tempting at the time to only pay small amounts weekly/monthly, you'll lose money in the long run.
It's less mystic than even that AFAIK. I think the word 'observer' is misleading, and it's better to say some atoms (or photons) got in the way of some other atoms (or photons) and affected the result in an expected way. Right?
But 3 failures out of 19 launches doesn't sound bad at all (?) I'm trying to reconcile your post with this post which claims half of the launches are failures.
I don't expect perfection at all. Just curious why there was such a huge contrast between the two posts, and what errors or misjudgments along the way (by either you or him) might explain it.
It'll be interesting to see what percentage of SpaceX's launches fail.
Instead of removing windows, it'd be better to make the windows bigger to bring about a sense of awe to passengers. Or is it better to take out any wonder or joy in life and replace it with mere functionality?
They'd be far better investing in and researching electric planes like what Elon Musk has spoken about.

Excellent point. The 3D-ness of a real piano's sound is surely the main problem when it comes to synthesizing a piano.

You must've made an error or reversed the sides.
The difference is that there are people who can eat what they want and stay thin. Leavings things to evolution is often the safer bet.

The difference is substantial - very substantial.
Try the "Pont de Quebec at Night" image making sure "Mozjpeg" is on the left and BPG-x265 on the right.
Then hover your mouse cursor over the image. Everything to the left of the cursor is JPEG, and everything to the right BPG.
Tell me you then can't see a difference.
Many laptops don't have space for two SSDs, and even with a desktop, it's cumbersome to have two drives, instead of everything on one.
And never mind 2TB, 3D SSDs should manage at least 10TB right?
That option seems to be really popular on Slashdot. It's not something I or the majority of the population would gladly accept however.
What a shame that your glorious robots would never get to taste, touch, see, hear, or actually experience anything.
...coming to the rescue yet again.
Qualia.

So if you said "Wow you've got more coffee in that cup that all the lakes in the world combined!", he'd think you were serious?
Like as if you'd want to use Windows own search. It's poor compared to third party search programs.
It is already. See: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsun...

The observer doesn't need to be conscious.

Magic of trains: you can stop midway at stations throughout the main journey to let people off.
What would typically be the source of the whine/buzz behind a convector heater (non-fan), and an LCD monitor, and an LED bulb?
Compare your post with this one which gives a success rate of 84%:
I'm confused.

Penny-wise, pound foolish.

The world turning into Idiocracy, one step at a time.
In the UK at least, Samsung still seems to be the highest rated, along with Crucial who both get 4.8/5 from numerous reviews.
