Considering the demographics of Slashdot readers, a credit card company would be better off advertising in terms of programming and class-oriented ad syntax, but dont forget its their objective to sell you a product even though their advertised objective is to educate you. They dont want you to know and think- they just want you to give them money...
I cant recall, but dont many universities now offer students a program to educate them in real life stuff like that? I would think accounting 1301 would even be sufficient to teach them that $credit_card == "lose";
Downloading the tools to correct a worm or virus you get also take longer, leaving your machine more vulnerable while you are online longer retrieving the tool to fix the worm. Also as mentioned, dial up users are natively discouraged from updating their systems since updates (win-doze, anti-virus, up2date, yum, etc..) are larger files designed for broadband users, meaning they are much wider open, and will be wider open for a longer period while they are online.
Is that not the same episode where they take on the myth that OSX is actually better than BSD? You know... they should try some that arent obvious busts;)
What about other options, such as cellular internet? Its cheaper nowadays, and is as simple as plugging in a pcmcia card. With this you can use it nearly anywhere, any time, at broadband speed... and youre not sharing the pipe with the other truckers. We all know what its like at a LAN party when one guy sucks all the available internet bandwidth for porn.... well if we had our own connection we wouldnt have to fear:)
My father is a former big whig for a nearby city, and he tells me that often times the maintanance crews would find fiber lines where they shouldnt be, often illegally located in and along and through santitary and storm water lines. He told the crews to treat them as big tree roots if they were not on the plans... Telecom companies would get soooo pissed, but couldnt do anything, since the conduits they laid in those cases were illegal to begin with and were causing infrastructure issues for the city.
What will Microsoft do considering Vista should be released by then? Will there be in house competition, or will this be the final SP before XP support is dropped officially or otherwise? I dont see why they would maintain XP if Vista is their new market venture, since it would make more profitable sense (no pun intended) to stop support of XP to sell Vista.
There may be some unbeknown flaw in the card that is so hard to fix it would take a new GPU, whatever the new card replacing it is. Perhaps it was a flop compared to what it needed to be in order to make the investment venture worthwhile, or perhaps its losing them money, and the faster they yank it, the faster they can sink some money in a new project.
Or we will pull a 2005 hurricane season and run out of Greek names too... Then where would we go? Accented words?

It would be hard to submit any more from my PC... If i had an extra PC for porn, maybe I could watch twice as much... twice the pleasure :D
