Sheeeeesh. Sounds like your church certainly went to the extreme in depicting the Apocalypse. Fortunately though, there's no biblical basis for all those assumptions (aside from the execution of Christians).
"... knowing the ages of Moon rocks, which can be computed to within 20 million years"
If there's a 20-million-year margin of error, then they certainly do not 'know the ages of moon rocks'. It really is pathetic what society tolerates/accepts when it comes to "science".
Has nobody stopped to ponder the effects of rotation and orbit? I wouldn't want to be in that tether's path when the moon disappears beneath the horizon.
While I agree that class-action suits may be a necessary evil in cases where consumer safety is concerned, cases like this only punish consumers. Any costs incurred by Microsoft will surely be passed along to their customers, and their customers will comply. After all, what choice do they have? Linux is beyond the abilities of the common consumer, and they'll still need Office if they migrate to Mac, so it's a catch 22. And while the consumer suffers, Microsoft's only hardships will be deciding where to distribute their costs, and what to do with all those Vista Capable stickers.
The hardware companies are sure to love this though. When word spreads that more powerful hardware is required to run Vista, more people will spend the extra money for the higher-end models.
You've clearly only scratched the surface of those programs. After Effects is by far the best consumer-level motion graphics software available, but Photoshop is a much more powerful option for image editing. And video editing!? It'd be a nightmare to try to manage any real editing project in After Effects.
You should consider reading the documentation that came with the software. Knowing the appropriate program to use for each task could greatly increase your productivity.
Cool, but nothing new... Nor should any of the mentioned people be credited with it's invention. This technology, properly known as "linear sound-plane technology," has been around for several years. It really is an amazing technology, for obvious reasons. We've got two linear-plane speakers here at the office, and they are AMAZING. They are not exagerating when they say that one person can hear it, while another cannot. The width and depth of the plane can be controlled, and there is no variance in volume anywhere. Awesome stuff... 2
Insightful? I think the mods meant "Ignorant". There's nothing insightful about blindly insulting a person's beliefs.
EXACTLY.
And design aside, this would provide for considerably faster page loads, and greatly reduced bandwidth consumption.
I don't think people get it. EOT would become an OPTION; not a requirement.

Yet another Anonymous Coward talking crap

How would their "massive profits" be a cause of them needing to invest in their infrastructure? ;)

Perhaps you could share your system configuration, rather than assuming your setup is the final word on Flash and Shockwave on OS X.
I've tested content in various versions of FireFox and Safari, on the following systems, without any problems:
- Mac OS X 10.4.11, on Dual 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5, with 2.5GB DDR
- Mac OS X 10.4.10, on 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2
I've also got a couple G4s that play Flash content well. It certainly chugs on my clamshell iBook G3 though (especially now that it's deceased).
Absolutely. In the end, it's the consumer that's suffered. Microsoft won't miss a beat.

My CDs must be broken then, because I have never had a problem reproducing sub-sonic frequencies .. .. 2
