The problem is that these people speculate based on what they want to happen... like the whole stupid flying cars thing.
They dont take into account things like market pressures and horde magnetism. The only reason that some bad products succeed over good products in marketing. And when something looks better than something else, no matter if it really is, hordes of peope will be drawn to it (ie MSWindows).
How about Anti-Interference. If you get an antanne and broadcast noise, it may clear up the problem because all the intereference might collide with the anti-intereference and go away. That way there would be no more intereference near the cables.
Some Canadian got the VA letter His location could of been better To California he moves His career hell not lose But his eligability will no longer matter
In California hell soon be broke But in our culture he will soak A trip down the streets Some coffee from Pete's And his only concern will be mocha
Ummm... I wasn't aware the government was developing software. And since when is it about what a small % of population (we) care about. A couple days ago at school I heard this: "I took a look at that Linux thing, and I don't understand it. They think it will beat windows and Im thinking yeah right."
Face it, people still have little to know clue what Open Source is, they just now know that its there.
These are funny. That is why they are funny. If you dont like it, moderate it down. But dont bitch about it. The moderation system is set up more fairly than I or most people could come up with. And it works.
It occurs to this one that pretty much every portrayal of AI provided to the masses has been media produced, with little actual consulting done to programmers. I personnally dont understand how AI would work, but I am not the smartest person in the world. It doesnt make sense to me.
But I have done some programming, and I know it would seem feasible to me to put in some catch that it couldn't work around to prevent it from vengence of some sort.. eg "mold" its personallity to prevent it from even thinking along those lines. Brainwash it so it cant even work around the code that prevents it from hurting me, because it operates on a base level.. sort of like its unconsious... a daemon that operates on the lowest level so that it cant percieve ever doing anything like that..
If that whole paragraph makes me look incredibly stupid, please tell me in a nice way. Thanks.
This NEEDS to mentioned on Slashdot (and elsewhere) or it will not stop. You want this to stop right? Why should it stop if nobody thinks its even newsworthy? This must be brought to public attention.
Do you comprehend what has been patented? They are not making a buck, they are preventing any amount of competition from suddenly springing up by patenting their process, despite the fact that the process involved is not some engineering feat, but more akin to drawing water from a well. This is not "making a buck" the traditional way, this is preventing competition from existing. If any competitor were to spring up, they would be forced to find some way to customize CDs over the web other that CUSTOMIZING CDs OVER THE WEB! Do you see the problem here? This is blatant abuse of the patent technique, and not only is it bad practice, it goes beyond supporting other companies to file frivoulous patents, and actually forces them to, to save their own "custom" processes.
Finally, someone whos knows what they're talking about.
To spark off the Fusion reaction, a big-ass blast is needed. Thus, a normal bomb shoves some uranium together really quickly, which releases buttloads of energy.
The obvious solution would be to build your very own Hydrogen reactor in your backyard (or planter box for those living in apartments or New York). Currently, there are no laws against it. The reason being is that nobody in Congress could fathom that Average Joe has enough technical know-how to get things done efficiently.
Oh, and the neighbors might complain too. "Stop saving the environment! Its Nuclear! Now were all gonna die!" Grr. I hate people.
I had AOL before it offered access to the Internet. I don't quite remember why I used the service, since most everything was ugly and not very interesting... but at least they didnt track me around their service.
Does someone know of a good port monitor or Win98 to help me see if this is happening?
But I have seen posts completely disappear. Remember those annoying S C R O L L messages that some tard was doing a while back? Those all were deleted...

Wouldnt it rather be a contest to see who can design the most efficient CPU. From what I've been led to believe the x86 architecture is not very efficient, and has a very low Hz : performance ratio, vs. other competing chip architectures.
Oh come on. Do we really need a standard for everything under the sun? Cant we relish in the sense of individuality our custom sized paper brings us? Do we have to conform with the rest of the world on the "proper" size of paper when we can't even get our measurements figured out? Sheesh...

Bah.
Use the sine waves, m'boy! They're telling us what will happen, you just have to listen!
Umm, my message was not intended to be taken that seriously. I know you cannot feasibly do what I suggested.

The scroll click on my mouse is programmable to do pretty much anything I want. Here a list of everything I can tell it to do:
-Close Window
-Double Click
-Drag Lock
-Maximize Window
-Middle Button
-Minimize Window
-Next Window
-Page Down
-Page Up
-Paste
-Start Button (mswindows yeah)
-Undo
-Windows Explorer
I dont know what it does with Linux (yet.. installing it on this machine soon), but it did come with the drivers so I assume it does plenty.
The picture shows the ball in the front of the mouse...

I distinctly remember the country being called The United States of Ensure in that movie...

All my passwords are typable with one hand (not pecking mind you) and flow from the hand with as little awkward movements as possible. It works.

Thats how its spelled on their website...
That is the most hilarious thing I have seen all day, and I don't know why.
Ok, it seems to be pretty much agreed on that it is ~$20.00 US? Right?
So that would be, like, $53,573.00 Canadian?

No, you are missing the point.
The requirement should be (and currently is in california) getting your arse down to the voting booth.
