    C'est la vie. By the way, my argument was weak at worst. I'd say it was mediocre to fair at best.

    My savings right now amounts to less than half a month's rent. You really think I'm going to give that away to anyone for ANY reason? Go yell at Britain, they only gave $100k. Maybe they'll listen.

    The conflict is that the iPod scheme is a pyramid scheme. In order to get the iPod, you must sign up X friends who are not already signed up. Those friends must then sign up X more in order to get their iPods. When most of the world has already received their iPod and there's only so many people left who haven't gotten an iPod, that means that the people who haven't received an iPod can no longer sign anyone else up.

    Therefor, he's screwing people to help himself and complaining about nearly the same thing. Sorry, the tsunami didn't effect me and maybe I'm just a cold, calloused bastard, but I'm not giving any of my meager savings to any relief fund for it.

    I'm an 18 year old college student and it's hard enough for me to figure out where my next meal is coming from. Why isn't anyone donating any money to me? Because it doesn't effect them in the least whether I live or die.

    However, when torrent sites die, it effects everyone in America. Some of our civil liberties are being killed, and that has an effect on every single person in America, whether you use those torrent sites or not.

    Just posting this scares me, thinking that /. is gonna get a subpoena and my house is gonna get broken into by gov't goons for talking. So, let me clarify by saying I'm not planning or preparing for anything. It hurts me that I actually have to say that to ease my fears. It saddens me that I'm actually afraid to post this.

    Are you joking? He makes some damn good points. Daredevil, along with the Kingpin fight scene being utterly stupid, had too much CGI for me. I couldn't help but notice and be annoyed by the CGI during the fight scenes, especially the one with Bullseye in the church.

    1: How do you know there is a God? Or to put it another way, if no one had ever told you about 'God' would your belief be the same?

    Faith is believing without proof. And I honestly don't know if I would believe in God if I had never heard of Him before.

    2: Given your belief in God I can only assume that you try do things you believe that your God would find acceptable, things you believe to be moral. Do your actions truly effect no one and nothing else?

    No, I do what *I* find acceptable. I believe I'm a good person and I do good things. Of course, everyone's actions affect other people, but that wasn't my point.

    3: If that is the case then why do you believe in a God, just believe in yourself as that's what you appear to be doing. Next time put I believe in myself in the religion box, not God.

    I believe in God because I don't believe the universe can just exist.

    Understand: I don't care what you believe. I really don't. You and IgnorusMaximus or whatever don't need to be asses to say you don't believe in God. You still need to respect, or at least not be hostile, to someone else's views.

    Because if this means that we might have Martians visiting Earth or colonies on Mars soon, it would matter to me or I might find that interesting. I don't care much about chemistry, but I find it interesting that two deadly chemicals combine to form salt.
