How about those without Internet connections? Either those that just don't want them, or those in places that don't have them?

Not everyone (not even the majority) are connected 24/7 like many Big City Dwellers.

I think this is very debatable.

The useful and unique features of FB have already been established, and much of the new "features" amount to things that are only useful to Facebook's customers to commercially leverage the personal information of the Facebook Sheeple for commercial financial gain.

For a significant percentage of Facebook users, it's only purpose is to play mindless inane "games". Certainly Facebook as a social networking tool is clearly in a precipitous decline.

Because there is some myth that star college athletes are not in it for the money, but the pure joy of clean, gentlemanly competition and the excitement of the game.

It's the same myth that has made the idea that pro athletes don't / should not use enhancing drugs and therapies.

I haven't read the FB ToS, for all I know, they define "ad" someplace else. It wouldn't surprise me.

However, your pedantic issue does not apply here. Read The Fucking Article, and you will see a screen-shot of... what is clearly an ad.

No, the company does *in fact* keep tack of every number you call.

And yes, normally you don't get a bill which itemizes local calls.

But none of this is the point.

This lady had a "customer service issue" where in she was disputing a charge. Verizon should be obligated to detail to any customer, on request, the nature of a charge. It's just that simple.

Now, Verizon has an "Itemized Bill Service" for which they charge, and it probably does cost them marginally more in computing and paper, but it's all there in their computers...

If I want ITEMIZED LOCAL CALLS on every bill, I might reasonable expect to pay a small fee.

But if I have a BILLING ISSUE, I expect them to pony up the data as a matter of doing business with me.
