    I don't see what's so special about cell phones and app stores - especially if they run Linux under the covers anyway

    Not only that, you really *DON'T* have to build an app that runs in all Linux / Android distros. First you eliminate all the "fringe" distros and hardware platforms, "fringe" means niche, very few users. Then, you target the top three.

    No problems.

    I know it's unpopular, but I think that's it.

    Aside from the good that Wikileaks does, any reasonable person that has read email discussions between this guy and his followers can see that he's really quite full of himself. It's not hard at all to imagine that his head got away from himself and he was a bit too aggressive with the ladies, I'm sure he thinks they should feel lucky to have had sex with him at all.

    This progression is to be expected. But the thing people should be asking is: does the new Buick ECM have an interface exposed that third parties can build readers for? Is there an assessable API? Probably not, so all this power will only be available to dealerships.

    Folks, spammers don't play by the rules, and playing by the rules will not, in the long term, even dent spammers.

    If we're not willing to us a "no holds barred" approach to attacking the spam bot issue, well, you better just get used to more and more spam.

    No it's not. Not exactly. The board is meant to run it in the best interests of the company, but this is not always about maximising shareholder profit.

    Exactly. Like the O.P., people often spout this bit of misinformation: "A corporation is required to maximize the profits for its share holders" as if that corporations are required to push aside all ethical and moral considerations for the purpose of screwing the most cash out of anything they touch. It just isn't so, though it often ends up that way.

    It certainly should. here's no question that most high school kids do not take education as seriously as they should. For many, high school is really just a social gathering.
