Why are people always so worried about gender differences? I just don't see what is so wrong about one sex being generally better than something at another.
Part of the experience of a high-school education is discovering what interests you. That can't happen if you're discouraged from even looking. And I think that young women may be discouraged from doing so in many ways.
Out of curiousity, would you believe this story (or rather be less skeptical) more or less if the DHS made a statement to the effect that this story was incorrect?
I consider myself to be someone with a taste for a wide variety of music: from hip hop to classical music. However, I am just not seeing much enticing new music. Couple that fact with diminished availabilty of funds, and that places me in the grouping of not buying cds.
Oh well. I stayed with N64 becuase of the catridges, and subsequently with gamecube because my friends couldn't burn a copy of the game i had paid for.
I'm sure Redhat won't mind you as an end user not paying attention to them since they don't sell desktop software. But I am not sure how you can dismiss them as non-nerds they do have alot of good programmers over there.
When RedHat's stock takes a nosedive, I'm sure you and your company will be among the first to put money into OSS to meet the void left by Redhat...right?
As far as I understand, the product is free, as it's all GPL code. You pay for the support. If you are not a paying customer, you still mean alot to them [bugzilla.redhat.com]. Would you like RedHat to employ tech support people and pay them with your "thank you"s ? These people need actually money to pay the programmers to do all the nice things that you download for free.

Yup. Entering the word lyrics plus a couple words from the chorus into google usually gets me the song title and artist in under 30s
