...HP are not only doing their bit to bring computers to developing countries, they are also doing there bit to establish linux as the number one OS in these countries as well!
Now these kids will grow up appreciating the value of computers, the internet, and all these other wonderful things that they would never have been able to use before. Well done HP!
Well, I would have once agreed with you there, but since I got my latest notebook (Toshiba Satellite w/ 2.8 Ghz P4, Geforce 4 420 Go, 256 MB RAM, hardly a gaming machine I know, but...) I have been using it extensively for gaming. I have been getting reasonable frame rates, and playability, from all manner of games, including Q3A with all options turned up.
It's the only thing that stops me going insane at uni...
Yeah, I had to buy a USB mouse to be able to play properly, and the battery doesn't do to well with games when I can't find and outlet, but generally, I love it.
People are always going on about how this invades their privacy etc etc, but there are two things to consider:
1. How many organisations already have all this information on you already, these cards aren't gonna be any worse.
2. If you've got nothing to hide, then why worry about it, and if you've got something to hide, then it's something you're just gonna have to deal with.
On the whole, the general public in the UK have nothing to fear from id cards, unless they fear a reduction in the ability of illegal immigrants and criminals to hide in the country.
Imagine watching a movie with someone and you get thirsty. It is an inconvenience to everyone watching the movie to stop the movie, but at the same time you don't want to miss anything important. Koolio could solve your problem.
But what when, having drunk that beer, you really gotta piss, what's Koolio gonna do for ya then, can it help with that as well?

Another saying was "Our job would be a lot easier if we didn't have any customers", but that's another matter entirely.

That must make me a real genius, as my code is never commented, and nobody can ever understand it.
The fact that I can't understand it either, and it never compiles, is completely irrelevant.

And as for Duke Nukem Forever, I could have told you 5 years ago we'd never see that.
