Traditional martial arts that many kids study work well on more traditional weapons like knives. Kung Fu, et al., don't do much against someone with a gun, IMHO.
It depends on range...a gun is much less dangerous at close range, especially if it has a long barrel. However that is where a knife is more dangerous.
Well to be honest I don't really have a lot of urges to kill people, but anyway, what you're missing is this: your examples involve hurting other people. If it doesn't hurt anyone, don't ban it. Simple as that.
Vector graphics scale perfectly. If I take a screenshot of the corner of my screen and scale it up, it will look perfect. With bitmaps, it will get pixellated as it is scaled larger.

Really? In the 10 minutes it took me to switch from WinXP to Gnome, I had absolutely no problems at all.
To me it works the same, but with the start menu at the top, and different options.
