Internet bandwidth can be characterized today as related to education and a means of self-expression, or a means of exchanging ideas and freely communicating.
In a western advanced industrial society as sweden or US let's say it can easily be incorporated into the 'bill of rights'.:-)
Now as to who's gonna pay for it, I guess 'the taxpayer' is not the answer our american friends (especially) will like.:-)
Piracy is the healthy reaction to overpricing. It is the "wonder" of capitalism in action. I am sorry but if I know that a product costs $2 overall to make and an "arbitrary" price of $15 is set on it, it doesn't matter that I CAN affort to buy it, I still know that I am being ripped off!
Reaction: I'll find a pirate version and enjoy myself for free or I will not buy the product unless I have to for some reason.
Morality is a relative principle. If it is moral for some corporations to overcharge because they can do so, it is moral for me to do anything within my powers to acquire their product as cheep as possible.
Does this screw them over?
Of course!
Does this hurt capitalism and the "foundations" of our society?
Of course not. It just prevents some CEOs buying the next condo in Florida as quickly as they thought.
Life is tough I know...
I managed to install RH9 on my presario 2500 and after all this blood gushing, tear drenched experience, now that my baby is stable and I completely isolated winXP into a 3Gb corrner and am able to work fully on RH9 I HAVE TO SWITCH????
Nahhhh...
I use my neighbor's wireless, it's free and no ads!
