  1. What people believe on Kerry Concedes Election To Bush · · Score: 1

It's hard for me to believe that people would rather vote based on taking away other peoples rights away ( same sex marriage, abortion ) as opposed to voting to better the people on a whole ( health care, enviroment, economical growth ), but I'm sure fear has alot to do with it. Oh well I Don't live in the U.S. but I hope your president leads you well. And I congradulate both parties for an exciting and interesting election.

Wow, so you only voted Rep because you didn't like the supporters of the Dem party and not because you believe in the leadership and policies?

That's like saying " I'm voting for hitler because my neighbour who hates everyone is not voting for him. "

Shouldn't you be deciding on who to vote for based on the policies and who can best lead the country?

By the way I don't live in the U.S. so it's just an observation.

Isn't this going to pose a problem with some DLP projectors, since some of them use white light (not RGB white) to get better contrast. If the screen only reflects RGB then this would lead me to believe the the white light from the DLP projectors will not show up. Any thoughts?

and there are tens of thousands of excellent reporters who have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of reporting, and actually have degrees in journalism.

And were are these reporters you talk about. every story I have seen in the past 4 years has been so degrated and biased that I just gave up watching/reading the news, since I have to wade through propaganda and opinoins just to get the facts.
Really I would think that in this day and age we wouldn't have to worry about sensorship and propaganda wars. This whole thing sickens me.

  6. Get her involved in something she likes. on Playing Games While Not Ruining Your Relationship? · · Score: 2, Interesting

I had this problem at first too. My SO didn't seem interested in any of the games I liked so I catered to her and asked what type of game she would like to play if she had too. The next day I went and bought Star Wars Knights of the old republic. After she got hooked and finished that game ( before I did I might ad ) she was more open minded to all other types of games. Now I think she plays more then I do.

  7. Re:DOes a domain name owner... on Berners-Lee on the TLD Explosion · · Score: 1

One could always debate the domain name as a trademark and take it to wipo which would then have a trial for who is rightfully entitled for the domain name. Although that process costs quite a bit of money for both the prosecuting and defending parties. Once wipo has a verdict the domain will go to the winning person.

  8. Re:Why it's appealing to me on Gentoo Linux Musings · · Score: 1

well if you want to have the speed then you can always emerge the binary. You should only emerge the source if a) you know your system is fast enough that it won't take long or b) you are prepared to wait the time for the computer to compile everything. I for one have no bad experiences with Gentoo, I have never had a failed dependency when installing either source or binary, and if I don't want to wait for an optimized package for my system and just want to test out a large program ie. openoffice then I just emerge the binary.
I don't think you have a valid argument.

  9. Re:Huh... on Linux's Achilles Heel Apparently Revealed · · Score: 1

I don't think you quite understand Linux development and the hurdles it has to overcome. Most of the time to get a working sound card driver you have to reverse engineer the code because the manufacturer will not realease the specs on it. So it's not the fault of Linux that the sound card does not work. It is the fault of the manufacturer that refuses to release the specs for the card, and even then I think we do a pretty good job of making the sound card work anyway. So if you have a problem with you sound card working, complain to the manufacturer, whith enough complaints one would hope they would release the specs of the hardware and sound cards would work everywhere.
    Just my two cents.
