Well the system is stacked in favor of the incumbent. The enormous "war chests" that they can accumulate to pay for their re-election campaigns, The seniority rules that penalize states that elect freshman lawmakers, the lack of term limits, and the lack of campaign finance reforms. The Citizens United ruling made by SCOTUS didn't make things any better.

Every country follows the golden rule: Who ever has the gold gets to make the rules.

I think something was lost in translation. It's not the third-party chargers that we would normally buy, it's the ultra cheap inferiorly made chargers that pass themselves off as an Apple product that is the problem.

The best advice for any country and any make of phone is that when looking for a replacement charger that plugs into your home's AC be sure to choose a charger that is certified for safety (e.g. UL, CE, MEPS, RCM, C-Tick. I guess the closest Chinese equivalent are CCC, CCIB, CCEE).

I mostly agreed with what you said except for:

Anyone that votes for a republican or democrat most definitely approves.

For as long as I can remember, the general elections have been more about picking the lesser of two (or rarely three) evils than a whole hearted agreement much less a 100% approval.

Most of the time people are fooled into thinking that the freshman congress person will holdfast to their positions on individual issues only to later realize that they will assuredly cave and vote the party line. The ridiculous two-party system guarantees this by basically extorting the newcomers into holding the party line at the risk of not getting any choice appointments on committees. The committee memberships are just as important to the constituents as the activities on the floor.

A very bad argument. The GPL license is explicit about how both the source code and the "non-source forms" are handled. The 1983 court case "Apple vs. Franklin" established that under the copyright act of 1976 that both source code and the resulting object code are copyrightable.

You have muddled things up a bit. Apple sells hardware with software. Microsoft mostly sells software. I know a lot of colleagues that purchased a MacBook Pro and run Windows 7 on them. They like the build of the Apple laptop but prefer to stick with the same OS as work.

You can actually purchase Apple hardware and still be in the Windows marketshare.

What's interesting about this story, at least for me, is that iPad sales have tanked.

You have a different definition of tank than most of us. TFS talks about a drop of only 8.75% (14.6 mil vs 16 mil previously). It suggests that while Android tablets have become an alternative for some, it hasn't dramatically affected the iPad's sales.

If you want to be considerate and absolutely need outdoor lights then consider putting shades on them to direct the light towards your property. If you don't need the light on continuously then consider getting a motion activated switch or even just a remote control switch.

However if the neighbor complains that her window is no longer dark due to incidental lighting then she should consider getting a darker curtains or a window shade. A friend of mine had a similar problem with a neighbor after he moved into his new house. His flood lamp (really a spotlight) illuminated his driveway whenever he arrived or departed his house. His neighbor complained because she was used to it being completely dark outside her window. Change alarms people.

It's more nuanced than that. You can copyright the work of art AND copyright the data files used to replicate that art, and allow the licensed production of the work with the data files. The summary writer wasn't even close to being correct when he hypothesized:

Precedent seems to imply that the resulting object cannot be controlled (e.g. the output of a GPLed program is not GPLed, so why should executing a program on a 3D printer be any different?).

Disregard the fact that the work is actually licensed as NC Creative Common.

You're not using an output of a GPLed program to produce your own non-GPLed works. Instead you are using a GPLed program to produce someone else's GPLed work. For example, you using GCC to compile your own HelloWorld.c doesn't automatically make the resultant HelloWorld executable GPL. Also if you using GCC to compile something GPLed like Dia doesn't make the resultant executable non-GPLed.
