The police and government here in Tampa (Ybor City) spend tons of tax money to create a series of cameras coupled to face-recognition software in the hopes of catching wanted criminals. The tin-hat brigade bitched like hell, but to no avail. Eventually (several years later) the system was taken down..... because it did not lead to a single arrest.
The University I am attending uses Biodiesel exclusively in their shuttle buses. I can assure you the exhaust does not smell of fries. Smells more like....... Diesel exhaust.
I agree with you in the cases where tuition is payed, but typically in a Graduate Program in the pure sciences or engineering the tuition is either completely waived or payed by the department. Not to mention there is also a stipend.
Don't see how one can complain too much when their tuition and living expenses are payed the by US taxpayers (at a state university).
Got to love the foriegn students who come here and use our education system, but bitch about the US the whole time they are here. If (insert country here) is so great, why don't you get your degree there?
