FYI competition mean competition within an industry not between industries. So for example AT&T and Verizon are competitors. Time Warner Cable and Direct TV would not be considered competitors to AT&T and Verizon.

During the '70s people understood that. Today, not so much.
I think the point was to be careful about the water you use and to not waste it. Not about guilt. But yes, golf courses are the biggest offenders and water conservation should start with them at the top of the list.
