They have a new group of characters. This movie sets up the new cast. The old cast is there to start it off. Not sure if they come back for round two.

He gave us: Phantom Menace, Clone Wars, and Revenge of the Sith - all craptacularly bad. Lucas has proven he can't write a script much less direct a movie. Producer is pretty good but he need to stay away and let other people do their work. That's why Empire was soo good.

This assumes there ever was a space age. There never was. There was an arms race. It ended. Human space exploration will take time, planning and money. Without a military angle to it, it won't have the funding that Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo had. Which is fine because you don't want to rush this.

Actually he's correct. More to the point, the genome does not contain everything we need to know. It contains a lot of noise as well. The genome is a mutation. Information theory does not work because it fails to account for the simple fact that: it's a bloody chemical process, and dna recombination is random. Would these people simply fuck off and go paint sea turtles.

It's called recruiting. A large part of it is letting people know these fields and careers exist. The other part is encouraging them. What a lot of people fail to understand is that several generations of women were not encouraged to go to college and have a career. That started to change in the '60s and '70s. Even today you have people against women serving in combat. So you have women that want to serve in combat and people actively preventing them.

So yes, gender bias does exist, even today.
