Wow so your son wants to go to an all girls school? So he's gay or something? You do realize there are all boy schools and all girls schools already in existence. Are you going to complain to them? Moron.
Actually it doesn't say that at all. What it says is that in a gender mixed environment females tend to get discouraged from pursuing math and science. I'm not a fan of the idea but the reasons are understandable.
You don't read much on the subject do you. Which is the point isn't it. You're more interest in commenting on a subject you know nothing about. Do some research before posting an inane comment.
Do not confuse "does not want to learn" with "discouraged from learning." Typically females are discouraged from entering science and engineering and it starts at an early age.
WTF does that have to do with anything? The issue at hand is a company that lives off of H1B Visas is not hiring local workers and in fact discriminates against hiring local workers. So the notion that more H1B Visas are needed because they can't find workers if false and self fulfilling prophecy. Local workers exist, they don't want to hire them.
Nothing in your comment had anything to do with question of hiring women on STEM tenure track. Read the article then post something relevant to the topic.
RTFA: "The first annual report from the Department of Economic Development says 30 companies began operating in 2014 among 54 initially approved for the program."
You don't start handing out tax breaks until companies start participating. So regardless of when TV Ads began, until companies participate is when to can measure success or failure.
However it's not about replicating Silicon Valley. It's about ALL BUSINESSES, not just the tech sector. So it's not about another technology corridor. It's trying to bring business back to NY and make NY more business friendly and take advantage of universities who's research can create new business markets. It's a grand idea. Not sure how well it will pay off. But the sample is definitely not long enough.
You mean like this: "According to the freedom of information law, “requests will be turned down if they would ‘significantly impact the success of an upcoming administrative measure,’” it said. - Yeah real hard to figure out *eye roll*
Really? When it did not have a snowball chance in hell for succeeding. RTFA: "According to the freedom of information law, “requests will be turned down if they would ‘significantly impact the success of an upcoming administrative measure,’” it said."
He should be nominated for a Darwin award for doing something stupid.
Yup, somebody who works at McDonalds....
Please stop. You're ignorance on the subject is showing.
Awful lot of low information people posting....
But that's the problem - how do you know what areas someone is strong in when they are being discouraged from pursuing them.
Calm down zippy. There are already all girls and all boys schools. They're Parochial schools. So why don't you complain to them.
Can we drop the pretense that "computer science" in high schools is nothing more than programming and turning out code monkeys.

How the hell is that a false equivalence? He said they are trying to get men into under-represented fields.

By activist you mean corporate lobbyists. They are the ones pushing this computer programming b.s.
Actually it's quite easy. All he has to do is show he was passed over for qualified positions.

You do realize when it comes to hiring it's a coin toss.

The real crime here is you are too stupid to realize what the kid did was wrong.
Vandalism is still vandalism. It's school property. Better get used to it.
