It almost doesn't matter how much you pay a CEO, because there's only one of them. OTOH, it matters a lot how much you pay those at the bottom of the wage pyramid. I know, the perception of a CEO getting more per hour than you get in a year doesn't *look* good, but the perception that it's not good is all there is.

Heh. How many of those DB-25 connectors used just 3 wires? A lot. might as well use 3 out of 9 as 3 out of 25, and it gave the chance to put extra connectors on the minimal external connector space on an expansion card. And it reduced the chance of plugging a parallel printer (with 5V logic) into a connector that had +- 12V on it. Ouch. (supposedly the gender of the plugs would stop this, but what with the confusion between DTE and DCE genders, it was all too easy to do) Damn, I'm sorry to see the end of RS-232 and parallel interface printers... NOT!

Using one of the preprint howtovote online systems was definitely the way to go. Previously I'd start at 100 (or whatever) and vote down to 1, putting the totally poisonous parties like Rise Up Australia and coalition at 100 and vote down to those I despised least. But this online system made it easy to lookup the parties and preference them based on that, with no risks of messing up and having to start over.

In this election, I suspect enough *did* vote below the line to warrant their being counted.
