    I saw an episode of a documentary/show Extraordinary People on Ben Underwood, and it was incredible what he was capable of, including riding a bicycle and playing basketball using echolocation. This is without any computer program or aid. Unfortunately, he died in 2009. As far as I know, only a few people possess this skill, but it can apparently be taught. The world expert is probably Daniel Kish.

    In game theory, when the rival player can adapt to any pure strategy, it makes sense to adopt a mixed strategy. In this example, it might mean that we randomly scan either the 18-25 year old male from the Middle East and/or the 90-year-grandmother. But the 18-25 year old is more likely to be picked, because the rival has a lower cost of training the 18-25 year old male.

    Disclaimer: this has nothing to do with what is just, just what is more strategic.

    In some ways, it is, with online courses and such. But universities have a very long tradition, and have a guildlike system of prestige and accreditation, so it's very hard to shake them up

    Single people can live without too much distress on minimum wage, as long as they don't get sick. Share a dilapidated house with some roommates, and do some dumpster diving, don't drive, and you can easily save money.

    I hope you do recall that US had a draft. It's not fair to call US soldiers murderers, if that's what you are implying. The officers who called the shots probably weren't the ones exposed to agent orange.

    Guns are targeted. When you engage an enemy with guns and bombs, it's possible your information is in error, but at least you made some attempt to identify an enemy combatant. At least, we hope so.

    There's plenty of corruption in capitalism, but as long as most people are reasonably well off, people won't revolt. People only start caring about corruption when they are impoverished.

    I was on antibiotics for a staph infection a while back, and I felt a general weakness and lack of drive. I know the antibiotics were working because I stopped farting, and my poops were relatively unprocessed and didn't stink.

    That would be considered a "hidden variable" theory. For this soul theory to be able to explain quantum mechanics, the soul must have some faster than light communication.

    But, wouldn't a rock have free will under that definition? Well, it depends on what you consider a decision to be. Everything is irreducible to some extent. You can get a pretty good approximation of the behavior of a rock by considering a idealized spherical mass, but to get more precise, you need to add more detail. For a perfect account of the behavior, you need the full quantum state of the system.
