Revenue is not the same as earnings
Full Year FY14 Guidance: Revenue for the company's full fiscal year 2014 is projected to be in the range of $4.000 billion to $4.025 billion, an increase of 31% to 32% year-over-year.
GAAP net loss per share is expected to be in the range of ($0.44) to ($0.42) while diluted non-GAAP EPS is expected to be in the range of $0.32 to $0.34. The non-GAAP estimate excludes the effects of stock-based compensation expense, expected to be approximately $511 million, amortization of purchased intangibles related to acquisitions, expected to be approximately $146 million, and net non-cash interest expense related to the convertible senior notes, expected to be approximately $47 million.
Intelligently designed organisms are all over.
"In 2010, crops modified by molecular methods were grown in 29 countries on more than 360 million acres. "
Detecting which organisms are products of intelligent design is big business although you can also buy a kit for classroom use for about $200.00

"Explore a modern application of genetic engineering through this exciting laboratory activity. This activity investigates whether the soy or corn ingredients in various processed foods contain a genetic modification. Students isolate DNA from wild-type and GM plant material (provided controls), and from food products of their choice. They use the extracted DNA as a template in 2 separate PCR reactions run under the same conditions. "
Certainly any organism will pass on its genetic traits through natural selection as determined by the environment, but it is an interesting question to me as to how to determine where the traits originated from. If you have a control to compare against - it is easy to determine if a trait was created - but what if you have no control to compare against?
For example - if glowing fish were discovered in Laguna Chicabal today how could it be determined if the glowing trait had evolved naturally, or if someone had genetically modified some of the fish in the lake 40 years ago and those had fish reproduced and carried on the glowing trait?

Flashlight fish have bioluminescent organs beneath their eyes and usually live in deep water and have done so for thousands of years so we can assume that they evolved that capability through natural selection.
Glofish are tropical fish that were bred by injecting flourescent color genes from jellyfish into a zebra fish, and this glowing property is passed on to the fish's offspring. This feature was produced be intelligent design rather than natural selection.
If I gave you a fish that glowed in the dark - how would you determine if the glow was a product of evolution or a product of genetic engineering?

Vonage via cable modem usually is pretty good, but this isn't exactly what the article describes.
The article is about a feature of the cable system called PacketCable which allows a cable modem to provide quality of service features to an embedded telephony device. The embedding of the telephony device in the cable modem allows the cable modem to know the telephone call details and communicate with the cable company headend to pre-request upstream bandwidth for the voice packets so they are not delayed (or dropped) on their way upstream. Although, once they reach the cable company headend, they may be treated the same as any other data because PacketCable only guarantees the quality of service over the cable portion of the data link.
The Motorola SBV5120/SBV5121 and some Arris cable modems are the most common PacketCable devices in the U.S.
(In theory, a cable modem could snoop packets from an external (Vonage type) telephony device and provide the quality of service to voice data that way, but no cable modems that I know of do this).
Fine details:
How does someone get to be an expert on something like PETA?
Does an expert on an article determine the "conventions" used in an article or do the "conventions" come from somewhere else and the expert is required to adhere to them. Will experts be annoyed if "their" article is editted in such a way? BCE vs BC for dates (for example) and other "Manual of Style" type things?
Good Luck - It will be interesting to see what happens!
"you can establish causation by creating a closed environment changing the percent CO2 in it and exposing it to sunlight periodically - it's called a greenhouse."
The name, greenhouse effect is unfortunate, for a real greenhouse does not behave as the atmosphere does. The primary mechanism keeping the air warm in a real greenhouse is the suppression of convection (the exchange of air between the inside and outside). Thus, a real greenhouse does act like a blanket to prevent bubbles of warm air from being carried away from the surface. As we have seen, this is not how the atmosphere keeps the Earth's surface warm. Indeed, the atmosphere facilitates rather than suppresses convection.
One sometimes hears the comparison between the greenhouse effect in the atmosphere (not in real greenhouses) and the interior of a parked car which has been left in the summer Sun with its windows rolled up. This comparison is as phony as is the comparison to real greenhouses. Again, keeping the windows closed merely suppresses convection.
Whether the topic is a real greenhouse or a car, one still hears the old saw that each stays warm because visible radiation (light) can pass through the windows, and infrared radiation cannot. Actually, it has been known for the better part of a century that this has very little bearing on the issue.
Plus, I've noticed that the Anti-Defamation League only complains about defamation of the Jewish people, it's like they have an agenda or something.
I've noticed that every time someone goes to Motel Six and replaces one of the Gideon Bibles with a photocopy of the Dead Sea Scrolls that the ADL doesn't see fit to mention it!
"The photographer has denied deliberately attempting to manipulate the image, saying that he was trying to remove dust marks and that he made mistakes due to the bad lighting conditions he was working under," said Moira Whittle, the head of public relations for Reuters.
Also, she's got a couple guys to help her incorporate grammer and spelling fixes for the books. If only the original designers would put so much thought into the little details...
The original designers did put the thought in when they purposely used poor grammar in some of the books.
Why does she (and the parent poster) assume that all the residents in the world of Oblivion are capable of using proper grammar?
If she corrects all the grammar mistakes, then a player who reads the books will assume that everyone (who writes) in the land of Oblivion uses good grammer, which is not what the game developers intended. They obviously intended to subtly show the game player the diversity of the educational backgrounds of the NPC's, and to show that even though some of the NPC's may use poor grammar, that they still have a love for writing.
Fie on her elitist attitude! I shall create a mod to add the poor grammar back.
RAY McGOVERN: Well, talk about that disingenuity. I mean, sure, they wore chemical [suits], because Rumsfeld and his generals ordered them to. This proves nothing, other than they went through with this charade. The Australian troops wore no such protective covering, because they knew there were no weapons there. The Australians knew these weapons were a figment of the propaganda put out by our Defense Department, so they blithely went in there without any protective covering. So it was all a charade.
Great - you post over 100 replies about the risk of using nonsecure Diebold systems for U.S. voting, but you have no problem with the U.S. government using nonsecure PC's in sensitive areas.

1) This article is about the call records (number, duration) - not the contents of the calls was the case in the NSA monitoring calls between U.S. citizens and Al Queda members (where one party was outside of the U.S).
2) Then ABC revealed the use of CIA predator missiles inside Pakistan, it certainly does touch on Al Queda.
The Afgnanistan/Pakistan border area is reportedly a site of Al Queda activity. Pakistan does aid the U.S. in this area, but also has an internal situation that makes it difficult for them when Pakistan's government is revealed as aiding the U.S. in this area. So, revealing information about such aid makes it more difficult to secure future aid because the Pakistan leaders will be worried that the U.S. will be unable to keep their assistance secret.
So, if ABC news used leakers inside the CIA as the source of their story on the predator missiles inside of Pakistan they are directly interfering with the Al Queda situation.
People questioned by the FBI about leaks of intelligence information say the CIA was also disturbed by ABC News reports that revealed the use of CIA predator missiles inside Pakistan.

Shouldn't silkworms be called "space kittens"? Somehow, I don't think that any vegan astronauts were involve in this study - they never are.

I really like the morgellonsusa page - especially the smiling stick man that travels around the border.
Although right at the top of the page it says:
