That's because the goverment has more customers than any other corporation I can imagine. Remember as well that there were not always calculators and computers. Before a computing machine was created, it would've been terriby impractical for the government to try to do all that work. So what did they do? They distributed it, of course, to the people. So now, instead of doing all the math, they only have to recheck forms that smell fishy.

As far as projectile wounds go, this is a pretty merciful instant death. I'd much rather be vaporized in a second than slowly bleed to death after getting shot in the stomach. True, the chance for survival goes down, but police are trained to shoot to kill anyway.

Yes, but is it not possible that the other comment wasn't on the page yet when he submitted his? I mean, by punished the first repititon of a particular comment it then becomes risky to say anything! What if someone else just said that +5 insightful nugget! Then you'll get -1, redundant. Better keep that possibly repetitive comment to yourself.

The mod guidelines say you should concentrate on modding UP for just this reason.

Sure, laptops are getting pretty great. But that's far, far less than you'd get in a $1350 laptop.

When it comes to public buildings, regulation makes sense (to a degree, anyway). But this is private use of private land!
