None of this is really new. Spend five minutes on the internet and you can find all sorts of home-built railguns. I remember reading an article[slashdot.org] about laser weaponry being successfully tested. (I know this was defensive, but how hard would it be to point it at something other than a missle?)
Portable half life came to my head early on as well, but then I started thinking about how many buttons I need for half life, and that idea went down the tubes. There are a lot of good games that COULD be played on that setup, but a lot of them need more controls, and I'd rather play PC games with a mouse and keyboard anyway.
Well, the fact that wireless networks are completely open to all forms of attacks really isn't news, but this is a little different. Basically, one computer sends out a signal to all the other computers saying that the network is busy, so no computers can communicate with the network. Its just a different way of stopping wireless networks.
While I agree this guy probably had what was coming to him, if you had a child that was poisoned by someone you never met, would you say "This is 2004, he/she should know by now not to take candy from strangers?"
Marx actually made PREDICTIONS, to be precise. If you read the Communist Manifesto (RTFCM) he predicts that the peasants will rise up and overthrow the aristocrats, set up a temporary dictatorship which will dissolve itself once the people are ready to govern themselves. That was the problem with russian communism, the government never got past step 2.
If you keep it too anonymous, wouldn't it become pointless? Lets say you have a lot of people running around a very large campground. If someone ends up missing, the only data you would have to look for them is that there were x amount of people at this place at this time, and it wouldn't really help. You would have to have some sort of unique ID with each tag, so you would know WHO was where.
Now for all you tin-foil-bearers, this sounds invasive, and it is, but it would be optional, and if it WASN'T invasive, it wouldn't help anybody at all.
EX:
Rescue team: "We're looking for person X."
Sensor: "Somebody came year yesterday at 3."
Rescue team: "Was it the person we are looking for?"
Sensor: "Somebody else (maybe even the same person) came by hear yesterday at 4...."
I was also a taker, but I am a highschool student. My teacher doesn't see any point in doing just the A exam since it won't get you anywhere, so we basically cover as much as we can in one year.
One thing I think you forgot to mention, the new exam has shifted more towards OOP than when the test was given in other languages.
When do we get to see some NEW ideas?

Its funny how you say this, because wasn't it yesterday (or the day before) that the release date for Doom 3 was announced?
5. I still live with my parents and don't have a job, so I'm using their Windows machine.

It's blizzards latest game where Orcs and Humans battle it out over the high seas... ...I heard its going to be bundled with Doom 3 this summer.
