Apple has produced some real bombs in the past. They are a company composed of people like any other and people make mistakes. They WILL fuck up sometimes.
I could add a few more recent products to that list, the cube being one, and Apple TV looking like another.

I can only imagine that the patching process hasnt yet been blocked by apple (even in the most recent firmware) as it is only people hacking this system that are buying it.
Would "I fogot to compile the APM power managements into my last kernel and have been to lazy to do another compile with 2.6.11" be a good enough reason to upgrade to the new kernel?
Just wait till the animal rights activists get their hands on this news. Im sure at some point in the not to distant future Im going to be stopped walking down the road by someone wanting me to sign up to a "flys not fuel" campaign.
I live in glasgow and to be honest, im not agaisnt the plan. Im just against having to pay for this sort of thing (im a student you see). The main reason Im not against them is because of the amount of fraud here, I work in a major department store in town and every day Im in the police get called in for people trying to get money out the store via openning instore acount under false ID. An ID card would be perfect way to let us know a little bit about the client, it would save alot of time as well.
The other reason is becuase of the amount of scum who live here who take advantage of our benfits system (social security equivalent) and other means of claiming things they dont deserve.
I currently carry about my drivers licience as my main form of ID and a matricluation card to get about university, neither of these have ever caused me an inconvienience and Ive never been worried about my privacy. One more card for a lot less hasslte, not a problem with me as long as its free.
Since nuclear weaponry became the status symbol for any modern nation, around 50 nukes have went "missing". 8 being from the usa and the rest from russia. That kinda scares me more than ppl stealing one!
