If they nuked the hosts entirely, they would reveal which hosts were infected. This would show who their targets were, and potentially shed light on who they are. It would also reveal what data they had managed to steel.
If you use an electric car - it needs to be recharged. That energy has to come from somewhere.. So instead of using a combustion engine, you are using energy from power plants, which usually means nuclear energy, or burning fossil fuels. - how does that help pollution?
The only benefit I can see is for urban areas, where you want to reduce the smog created from such a high concentration of vehicles - in which case you do not need a sportscar.
I was almost sure that I had read something about a EC funded "google-killer" search engine being developed in europe, which planned to do this. Sure enough:
researchers at the University of Karlsruhe are developing Quaero's voice-recognition and translation technology, with funding from the European Commission. [...] In addition, speaker-identification software will allow users (via computer microphones) to search the internet for audio clips recorded in their own voices, or those of other speakers.
"There is a small set of functionality that users expect at specific areas of your screen: first buttons should be back and forward, they expect an input field for URLs at the top, maybe a google search bar... and that's it. If they are there, they are not really "confused" because there are additional buttons (kget, print, even cervisia) to the right side. They don't even notice it."
That's really stupid. Of course it's more difficult to find the needle in the haystack if the haystack is bigger.
If you really think that finding the "back" button on a toolbar with, say, 10 buttons is anything like trying to find a needle in a haystack... then maybe the gnome developers are right! Users are stupid. Don't add extra features: they are already confused.
So from where I sit, WiMAX can't be killed, because it's not alive.
WiMAX is simply a term used to denote appliances which have been certified by the WiMAX Forum
From their FAQ:
"The WiMAX Forum is an organization of leading operators and communications component and equipment companies. The WiMAX Forum's charter is to promote and certify the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless access equipment that conforms to the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.16 and ETSI HiperMAN standards"
They have started testing loads of equipment from various manufacturers, as part of their "certification" process. These products should have been certified before the end of the year. Here are some examples:
"Vista is going to flop, mainly because XP can already do what people need their computers to do. No reason to upgrade."
Win2000, even win98, could do everything people need their computers to do. Yet winXP was not a flop.
And anyway, as soon as vista is shipped with 90% of consumer PC's, people will not have a choice as to whether or not they want to upgrade. I have not used a microsoft product in years (accept for my optical mouse), yet I still had to "upgrade" to windows XP when I bought a new laptop in January. Vists is surely not going to flop as long as Microsoft is in the position they are in. Even I will probably have to pay for a vista liscence at some point.
The big bold text is referring to the fact that it can play videos in this format, which is why it has "Divx, wmv, ac3" written under it. seemed quite clear to me.
