It's a step taken before communicating with you and knowing that you will log ("it's reasonable to expect that" is NOT an excuse). That'd be like considering dialling a number or picking the phone up consent for recording the call. An action taken prior to knowing the terms cannot constitute agreement to the terms.
The one thing about MMOs I don't like is the lack of content change. I don't mind slow levelling and such if the game still changes enough while I'm playing it. Environments and enemies that change frequently, that kind of thing. Not staying in a place beating stuff until you're cleared for the next area. I'd rather work my way through an area and fighting because the enemies are in the way, not because I need a number of kills to proceed. Of course changing enemies means more than just a changed 3d representation and more HP/damage, I mean different behaviours you have to deal with, strategies that differ, etc. I also often found that I had way too little to do in combat, only spam a special ability or two and click the potion button in regular intervals. People told me it gets better at higher levels but why is it like that at low levels? Why not give the player a good repertoire of tactics right from the start? The whole time you spend playing a game is a part of the game, not just the time that comes after the first howevermany hours.
Also do any MMORPGs use concepts like cover, flanking, etc? I assume their simple combat systems are mostly to reduce the requirements for low latency, manual aiming and such don't work well in a high latency environment but strategies should be mostly unaffected by the time between input and reaction.
Anonymizing your IP is an active step. Consenting to the use of personal information is opt-in, not opt-out, there needs to be an action that is agreement and that action has to be performed after it has been announced that recording will take place if you agree. Attaching a page "Do you agree to have your IP logged?" and not logging it until the user clicks past that is acceptable, just assuming that because his computer has its default behaviour and tells you the IP that's consent gets you in legal trouble.
I know that feeling, I hate that it uses several windows that don't keep a useful z order so when I switch to another application and back I have to pull all the windows back up and the image has a tendency to obscure the tool windows. There's more friction I get but I think that's mostly because I'm more used to Photoshop. For some reason it doesn't seem like I can draw on the alpha channel or it couldn't export to TGA or something, I know I had some trouble with handling alpha for my textures though.
Your information can only be stored with your consent. Doing something automatically without informing the subject beforehand is not allowed. Giving someone a business card is consent, as is walking past a "video surveillance ahead" sign.
You can know it but you cannot retain the data without the explicit consent of the subject (that means being presented a page detailling what data will be stored and how it will be used that the user has to click "I agree" on, any claims you make on that page are legally binding, sharing this information to unauthorized parties, especially foreign companies, is a crime).
Well but the initial claim was that CSG prevents asset depreciation and I don't see how that's the case. The highest LOD level will never have more detail than can be rendered at roughly current hardware because anything more is a waste of time. We could have all kinds of fancy-pants assets that use much more than current hardware can deliver to look better on future hardware but somebody's footing the bill for all that extra detail and he's not going to like it, by the time that kicks in the game's in the 5$ clearance bin anyway.
The C64 was designed for games. What other reason is there for it to support sprites in hardware and use a pretty advanced sound chip? AFAIK it was designed as a console but because consoles were in a slump they outfitted it with some basic computer features and pushed it as a PC instead.
It's questionable whether they could get such a law past the courts since it's effectively censorship which is still unconstitutional. The exception for the protection of minors does not cover preventing sale to adults and I doubt they could present a regular violent videogame (i.e. one that's within current laws) as a serious threat to society. Since there is no real distinction between media when it comes to that it would be a carte blanche to prevent any mention of violence in the media, enough to run a new holocaust and prevent anyone from talking about it.
16 is not the highest rating, 18 is (barring indexing or banning). Also some things are released in a censored version rated 16 and an uncut one rated 18.

Wait, does that mean theologists will now argue God is on your harddrive?
So if money / time is power, does that mean money is work?

I think it was just one feature available seventy times (layer modes or something).
The photo part of the name scared me away (sounds feature stripped), is it useful for painting?

Your counter argument to "Heavenly Sword plays like crap despite the graphics" is "it looks pretty and has nice movies"?
They did sue Sony Electronics in the past but AFAIK Stringer wants to make the divisions cooperate more which would include not suing other divisions.
Hell, Sony sued Sony over making copying devices!
The legislative and the judicative are not the same entity. There's a reason for that. Laws can be struck down by a court if they violate other laws.
Great, now I can't forget the idea of making a "Super Uncle Sam" platformer. "It'sa me, the state!"

You should have used a picture of Harman Smith from Killer7 there :P.
That's less than you pay for a PS3 in Europe and evidently that thing's selling, too.
Ratings Board: You're right, this game isn't for children. Consequently you aren't allowed to sell it to them.
Console Manufacturer: Releasing an adults-only game on our platform is against our family-friendly policies!
Yes, Sony actually refused to sell God of War at first because it got the same rating, citing their "family friendly" policies.
Sales-wise Japan is about half as large as the US and on par with the "Other" region (Europe, Australia and the whole rest) when it comes to consoles.
But how many Wii is an Imperial Wii unit?
Get her to a Wii demonstration and let her play Wii Sports Tennis, that seems to work well for convincing people.
