I think the fighting itself is fine but enemy numbers and strengths make fighting merely a matter of spotting enemies before they reach you and then it's easy going, just whack them with a sword to conveniently keep them out of range (no, creepers don't require a different approach). Terraria ups the ante there by having many enemy tiers where your basic sword will barely scratch something like a fire imp, enemies may be easy to spot but they'll often overwhelm you, especially if you go into an area you aren't equipped for.
Indies like that need their reputation, if Notch screwed players by stopping development on Minecraft that would kill the sales of all future games he makes.
Also the German economy is heavily based around small and medium sized businesses, software patents would be able to cripple that and wreck the country's economy.

Isn't one reason for the value of silver vs the dollar that the economy represented by the dollar is growing while the silver supply is not? As economic activity increases you need a money pool that's large enough to contain it all (even the multi-lending banks do is capped at a certain percentage). If the money pool does not grow that means the money values of everything in the economy have to decrease which makes it a good idea to keep money instead of buying something with it.
So fixed size of the money pool, growth of the economy or wages, something has to give.
Do they really need automatic assault rifles? A submachine gun seems like a much better choice for the kind of urban combat a cartel would be involved in. Also it might be cheaper to buy a rifle in the US and just import a trigger group with full auto option for it instead of buying the whole rifle from overseas.
Right now these organizations are building jerry-rigged military weapons, but it's only a matter of time before they're doing more, and before they spread over the US border and become entrenched.
That's just a slippery slope argument. Who says that the US wouldn't be much more effective at eliminating cartels that cross the border than the Mexican police is?
It matters for the weapons you use to counter it. This is an armored car, a proper APC is armored like a tank and can withstand anything short of anti-tank weapons, this thing would be torn apart by a heavy machine gun, something found on most military vehicles.
Registering a domain in a country does not mean everything done on the website is under jurisdiction of that country. Evidently these people had all their meatspace stuff in Europe. One guy I know has a domain in the Soviet Union ccTLD, that doesn't make him subject to Soviet law.
