Yeah, you shouldn't give assigments/tests that the students already know how to solve or can solve with a bit of thinking. You should give them stuff they have to seek new knowledge in order to acomplish. I remember that in math I always tried to understand what was supposed to come the next year(We had the same book for three years, and yes it was 1000+ pages thick.).
To gain a little you have to work for it.
The problem is that most of us gets mad when someone corrects us. So people stop correcting us because they don't want us to get mad. Quite logical isn't it? The root of this problem is that people haven't learnt that we should cherish those who correct us. They are just helping us to a greater knowledge.
We should teach our children that being corrected is good not bad, and that it's fun to learn.
You have probably just haven't seen the right show... Have you watched for example Evangelion, Gundam Seed, Fafner in the Azure or Wolf's rain? If the answer is no, please at least watch one of them... Other series I can recomen, description taken from anidb.info
Gunslinger Girl - A secret Italian government organization takes seriously injured girls, patch them up with artificial body parts, and "conditions" them to be assassins. Each girl is paired with an older man, and they work together as a "fratello" - a brother-sister unit. This moody show takes a look at these girls, and their different relationships with their supervisors.
Elfen Lied(US title: Elvin lied) - The diclonius, otherwise known as a two-horned human, are mutants of the human species, may well be the next step in human evolution. The diclonius have horns and strong telekinetic powers represented by "arms". However with this great power, they can easily destroy the human race. Fearful of their power, humans quarantined the diclonius into secret research facilities to study. However, in a freak accident, a enraged female diclonius escaped, killing many guards in the process. Interesting enough, the female escapee appears to have suffered amnesia after her escape and floated to Yuigahama of Kamakura city. There, she meets two people named Kouta and Yuka, who name the female diclonius "Nyuu", and decide that they all should live together.
Legend Of Galactic Heroes - The story of two mighty space empires is told from the viewpoint of two `heroes`: Rheinhardt Von Museal, Admiral of the Galactic Empire, and Yang Wenli, Admiral from the Alliance of Free Planets. Both men are military and tactical geniuses and are born survivors. The ambitious Rheinhart has the goal of getting enough power to be able to free his sister from her obligation as one of the Emperor`s Court ladies. He is fairly ruthless in this which is tempered only by his aide: Siegfried Kircheis. Yang is a pacifistic man who, when necessary, will do his duty even if it means fighting against an enemy fleet (since he is a *soldier*, after all). The drama between these 2 men is played out against a backdrop of great space battles, inept commanders, frightened soldiers, personal relationships, corrupt politicians and the workings of two space empires at war with each other. This is a space opera on a very grand scale.
This is what mozilla dev said: "Netscape 8 Is Unsafe
Users of the Netscape 8 browser can click here to verify that their browser exhibits the Cross Site Scripting flaw that was fixed for Firefox 1.0.4.
If security is important to you, this demonstration should show that browsers that are redistributions of the official Mozilla releases are never going to give you security updates as quickly as Mozilla will itself for its supported products."
Nice cut there... Isn't missqouting illegal?! I know it is in some countries.
Besides, the OSI model is only used in theory, in practice it's much more practical to use a 4 layered model...

All the "widely" used mailingprograms are available for OpenBSD, what's your problem with them? Sure there is some stuff missing in ports/packages but they're getting fewer by the day. If you miss something go a head an make a port of it.

Well, most games run at the same FPS as in windows though it might be a bit unstable in some games, often those games are some pseudo game(freeware games;)). WoW runs like a charm, so does most blizzard games. If the game is new (2-3 weeks) you'll often have to edit your config, nothing to bothersome though; ususally takes 5-10mins.

The most annoying thing with running the 2.6 kernel on a production server is that you've to reboot it every time you wan't to have all the bugfixes and so on. My question is: Is it possible to run a kernel and then compile the latest 2.6 kernel and then start it on another cpu "partition"?Then move over all the applications running under the old kernel to the new one without any significant downtime (under 1 second). And you just kill the old kernel and vola you're running the latest 2.6 kernel without any rebooting?:)

My father, who's using a mac, loves limewire beacuse it melts perfectly in to his UI. But he can't do anything else while he has limewire running; except play solitare and shanghai.
Personnaly I think limewire sucks.
Here's the reasons.
1. It's slow and processor hogging.
2. It dosen't melt into my fluxbox theme. (my fault)
3: It requires Java.
But for the ordinary user I think limewire is the best p2p software out there.
Let me clarify (my last post had a lot of grammer and grammar errors.).
Valve is locking out those who did the "hack" where you pulled out the ethernet/modem cable during the download. This apperently worked quite well and Valve was frustrated (With good reasons).
I've also heard some rumors regarding Valve releasing the cracked version with a tracer in it.
I think they're talking about the "hack" where you pull out your network cable half way through of the download and then plugs it in again:/.
And it've been circulating rumors about that valve realesed the cracked version so they could track who where using the illegal version.

Geeks! We must prevent Microsoft from taking over the world through WGF! As one previously poster mentioned the open source camp is much better on the naming part, so our superior version of the Girl Friend protcol will have an much cooler/atractive/beutiful name then the MS version.
