There are so many options and it depends on personal preferences. I would start looking first what type of keys you want. I would go for cherry mechanical keys. There are several types and plenty of info.
Once you know that, look what keyboards have them.
That way you can decide what noise you want to make or not, how much force you want or not and such.
Because even if 99.9% of people advice you to use keyboard X, you might not like it. Perhaps you like a lot of noise to annoy your cow orkers. Perhaps you want it to be silent, even if you are always alone.
And there are plenty of Youtube videos to look at what the differnce is.
In general I would agree. e.g. if you have some sort of socket, like USB, you might not have use for it now, but might want to use it for future use.
However a camera has an extremely limit use. It captures images. So if you buy a camera, you do it with the intend to capture images.
It might well be that they are not yet sure about the details. e.g. keep only the last 30 minutes, the last person who drove it, have it turned on and of depending if you take insurance or whatever, but the intend is clear: to take images.
I hear people bitch and moan. The IT people only look at their own system and not to the weakest link, the human.
I have at least 25 different places I need to enter a login and password. I am not able to select logins for at least 10. I need to change passwords of at least 10. I need to change them on different intervals The 30 days one are terrible). I have some with a maximum amount and some with a minimal amount. I am not able to install software, nor have access to anyting on all places I need them.
So what is a GOOD solution. All solutions I have gotten was to install X, which I can't do or use website Y, to which I have no access.
Oh and I obviously can't use any system in the passwords as that would be unsafe and I can not use the same one for any of them.
So the only way to do this is to make it less secure by at least dropping one and possibly more than one requirements to have a secure password system. It is either that or having no access (which is what every BOFH would love.)
So please find a generic soluton for the mutitude of passwords and logins.
About it being expensive. The cost of the excustion could be cheaper if you use a bullet, If you want to make it even cheaper, just charge the family for the bullit. (Oh, wait.)
Do they use it because it is different, or because it is not possible? e.g. causation and correlation.
I have an Acer laptop with a detachable keyboard (or a tablet with an attachable keyboard) that I use as laptop/tablet. I also connect a screen to it (remote, but still) and use it as a desktop.
I have a more powerfull PC, so I bought a pretty light one, but I am sure it would be powerfull enough to be a laptop/tablet/desktop for many users who only do basic stuff. Having a real keyboard/mouse/monitor connected to it is all and I still can take it with me with its 11" (I think) and evn just use it as a tablet if I so desire.
So yes, uses ARE different, but that does not mean that the core hardware needs to be and if the software is able to adapt, it is the best.
COmpare it to using GNOME in tablet mode, KDE for portable mode and XFCE if ou want to do real work on your desktop.
That depends on where you draw the line. Some laws will still apply, even if it is about a private organisation, a private property or a contract between two people.
Just because it is private does not mean everything is allowed.
This lawsuit could decide if this is crossing the line or not.
In Belgium for some jobs, a background check can be done. However these are most likely NATO oriented. For other jobs sometimes a check can be asked. This means going to the police and get a certificate that indicates if there is a criminal record or not.
At this moment there are discussions about a change concerning the details. This would mean that crimes would be linked to the job. e.g. a pedophile will be shown as having a record when going for a job with children, but not as a e.g. a cleaner during the night.
Also after a certain period, the slate will be clean. This will depend on the crime commited.
One of the things that can be done is decriminalisation of certain "crimes" like the sexual worker as mentioned.
Making it legal (nog just tolerated) will increase safety for both workers and employees as well as lower the crimes connected to prostituation (trafficing and pimping). While regulation can keep it away from certain areas (e.g. schools or malls). People unwilling to use the service will never be forced to do so. People willing to work there, can do so within the legal parameters. Sure, some people will not like their job, They can still becaime call agents or work anywhere else (and have the right to hate that job as well)
From what I understand, the only reason it is illegal, is because some people do not like it that OTHERS do that job.
This is the same for any living language. However I think that the rules stay similar over a very long time.Words might change, but gramar stays largely the same.
Only when you start to look closer will you find difference. Not only over time, but also per region. These differnces will influence each other or not. e.g. with Dutch and Afrikaans, there is now a clear difference. When looking at Dutch and Flemish, you will notice that the difference is much smaller and mainly pronounciation and worduse.
No matter how much (some) liguists would like to treat language as a fixed thing, it isn't.
You can't determine speed and location at the same time and that is what they are trying to mdo.
I do not pay for my electricity, yet I still replaced it all. No need to be an asshole to the person who does pay it. And I do appreciate the better light I get from them as well.
The way you wrote it made it sound as if they are somehow related. You could also say: Some of there are blue pills, or at least can be baught. It is completely unrelated.
So no, they are NOT effective. There are enough studies that prove that.
It might depend on the person you are, but I have never dropped my phone. I also seldom check my phone for the time when I am with someone (or in the past my watch) unless I need to be somewhere, which will be told to the person I am with.
So when I look, the other person or persons know why I am looking and even will help me to leave in time, in case I forget to look.
I am not sturprised Marvin Gay stopped making music with all these people stealing his music.
That is also why Elvis works now at a gas station in Texas, Jimmy Hendrickx is not in the top 10 anymore and The Beatles split up over it, because Michael Jackson bought their copyright. (When is he coming out with a new album?)
Remember: copyright is to protect the artists, as the MAFIAA keeps explaining. Why don't you people listen?
I do not use a watch anymore since I have a phone that tells me the time. In the past my search was always to find a watch that told me the day of the week and it should be thin,
To me the iPhone watch is not about time as that is already available on the iPhone. It is just a second screen like many have a second screen for their portable.
Nobody seems to get it. Not the watchmakers. Not the people looking at tech.
The 10.000 dollar watch is irrelevant. That is NOT what they are interested in selling. What they are interested in are two things. 1) The buzz this creates, Everybody is talking about it. Talk about great marketing 2) Selling the cheaper watches. In Retaurants and bars it is very common to have one extremely expensive item. e.g. a very expensive wine or wiskey. This is not to sell the expensive iten, this is to make OTHER amounts SEEM less expensive.
Three watches, three prices. The middle one now suddenly looks 'cheap' and thus will sell better.
This is marketing 101. So even if NOBODY buys the 10.000 dollar watch and thet have to trow all of the production into the sea, the increase in sales to the more expensive ones. If X% buys a more expensive one, they are making money.
They must be high-fiving all the way to the bank about all the fuzz it created.

The thing that gets lost between the department and HR is want vs. need. Department says he wants somebody with X ecperience and it even says so in many ads. Yet somehow they think it means "Must" instead of "Nice to have".
Also they have no idea that X is more or less importand than Y. If you have BSD experience, they would have no idea how to translate that to Linux experience wanted.
And often people who want to hire somebody can not even say what they need or want exactly. You will know it when you see it if it is a yes or a no. I know I have been in that situation.
A place where I worked, we just passed HR completely and hired what and who we wanted. They were not happy, but all they had to do was fill out the paperwork.
I understand if they do not know what requirements mean. They should however be able to understand that we want humans and that means that nothing is really fixed.
I have hired people who would have been completely underqualified, yet we believed in then that they would on par very soon, very fast.
HR should be a suporting role, not a leading role in the hire of people. The department manager should be the lead.
We have rejected qualified people, because we did not like them.Read that as "would not fit in the team". Yes, that can be important as not to spoil a great working enviroment.

Concerning the pig and the swine: Some animals are more equal then others.

A camera is not futureproofing.
So what is your alternative?

Please define "cheap music" and it's relation to the fact that it is made within a few hours.
Many "cheap music" take a lot more than just a few hours. A lot of classics were made in less than a few hours.

e.g. in Europe the charger must be the same for all as a standard. I can easily see where this have to be for other connections as well.
