Why patent it at all? Even if what you have should not be patentable, but your country somehow allows for software to be patentable, why patent it at all?
Imagine that you make something available and you do not patent it. Somebody else sees it and patents it. Good for him. He just wasted a fuckton of money for something that can be easily proved as having previous art, BECAUSE it is open source.
If you want those patents to defend against other patents, beware of the following: 1) You need a LOT of money. 2) You are now fighting in the mud with the pigs. Only to realize after a while that the pig likes it.
I am not sure what you think, I think it means that Climate Change is Gods punishment for gay marriage.
OK. It is completely not what is said, but if you can twist what is presented, so can I.
Incredible when it actually says that "Global warning is man made" you try to spin it. Now take your thinking and come back with proof. Unless you have actual proof, I will disregard it as if it were identical to 'I believe'.
The problem is, those two things go hand in hand. If you don't understand the details of the technology, you're highly likely to miss a bunch of nuance in understanding how (and how much) it can solve your business problems.
Untrue. Let us take a car example. I as CEO want to move our product from place A to place B. I also want to move myself from place A to place B.
So I ask people who know about these stuff and he will then ask me how much stuff there is going to be moved and how often. He then proposes a truck or a fleet of truck or even train or transport by boat or a combination.
For the personal transport, he will also ask a few questions and then will come up with a bicycle or a Maybach with driver or something else, depending on the answers.
Where it will go wrong if the wrong questions are asked or if I give the wrong answer, because I want to influence the answer.
e.g. if I as a CEO ask what the best Helicopter is for my daily transport, I will get an answer to THAT question. However if I live at the office, the answer to transport should have been "Walk".
And that is often the problem: People who think they know something about the technology will ask for the wrong things and then are surprised they get the wrong answers.
Very few CEOs get this. Very few are able to let go and just trust the people in their team to be qualified in their field. I have had only a few who actually said to me "I do not understand what you are trying to explain, but I trust your experience and expertise and believe you will deliver." Obviously this does not happen at the first day at work. It takes honesty from both sides. i.e. me telling when I did not achieved some goal, why and how I would prevent it in the future. Not trying to hide my ass and blame something or somebody else. My team? My fault!
Sorry for the late answer. Not sure if it is more efficient, but it is better as the server does everything any other DNS server does, without the filtering of the domains that are required to be filtered by law.
With the website, you need to point yourself each time to another site when it is added to your countries blacklist. Also that site only has TPB, not others that are blocked.
Your own DNS has (obviously) no black list, so you can just go to thepiratebay.org or any site and be done with it.
If you are moderately technical, try setting up your own DNS server. The worst that can happen is that you don't have internet while it is running.
It should not stop with math. Ideas in general should not be patentable, nor anything organic (I am looking at you Monsanto).
Your first 10 patents that get denied, are free. Each one after that should be exponentially be more expensive. Each re-entry will be counted as half a new one. And you should have a working machine within a reasonable time (e.g. 2 years) , otherwise the patent goes to public domain.
That way you still encourage the small inventor, but block the patent trolls. They will have some sort of working machine and seldom have many patents. The 2 years give them time to find investors to actually make a working machine.
So if you have the patent and were unable to make the machine, somebody anybody can take your patent and improve on it and make it work. As it is in public domain, everybody then can use it.
It should be looked at as a way to stand on the shoulders of giants, not as a struggle against Goliath.
Alternate DNS servers? I live in Belgium where they block (among others) TPB, so I just run my own. OK, I am able to configure my own named server. What is needed for others is an idiot proof DNS server that people can run on their local machine (so no remote connections allowed).
And I talk about so easy, your grandma can install it and it runs by just double clicking. Something that is made for just local usage with as little configuration as possible. No need to be able to make any local domains. Just something so you do not need an external DNS server.
Perhaps that already exists and it is just not commonly known.
I rather go with the idea that I WILL be followed and things WILL be recorded then to trust that nobody does. If being traced is a problem for you, then assume that you ARE being traced and people who say they won't are lying. If I had anything to share and it should be anonymous, sending a thumb-drive should be a lot easier. Darn, just send all sources an SD card via snail-mail. With the prices of what they are, the most expensive part will be posting. And it can be done from almost anywhere in the world as well. (Note: Just don't fill out the return address)
Product placement would be an easy way to fund free porn. And really, how much more Pavlovian can you get than to have someone masturbate while looking at your product?
The problem is that you have jail time for this. The excuse can not be that it is OK now, because it was OK to drive drunk before the laws where made.
In Belgium you get a (serious) fine and your drivers license is taken. Also random alcohol tests together with campaigns to be a designated driver. There can be jail time, but that would be in very specific cases and mostly related to repeat offenders together with accidents and people actually hurt.
I do agree with the 0%. Whenever I am designated driver I will do 0%, because not drinking is easier then drinking 1 or 2 (Oh, 3 might not hurt over the time and with the dinner. Make that 4..... 99 bottles of beer on the wall...) The message with 0% is that drinking and driving don't mix and that can be the only message.
If we start distributing food to those who need it and adapt the production to what we need, then we can have a LOT more people. We waste a lot of our food in production and sales. Supermarkets trow away a lot of still good food.
Just think how much food you trow away because it is out of date. That is because you bought with a want and not with a need.
The market nurtures that want and therefore overproduces as well so that if you have a want, it is in store and you can buy it.
We already do that here in Belgium. It is called steak tartare and is basically raw chopped meat sometimes together with a raw egg. No need to have anything artificial.
Where I live I know people who have about the same degree. And 20 years down the road, they have not lived frugal, own their own home. Have a retirement plan. No medical bills to speak of. Savings that still keep on growing by 500-1500 per month and kids in University. Oh and 24-40 payed holidays per year. 13th and sometimes 14th month pay.
But call yourself lucky, because if you want the same, you have to become a socialist. And that is apparently worse then living in poverty.
Look at the plus side. When China's economy gets a boost, they will need to outsource to a country where there is a lot of unschooled labor and no unions to speak of. He will be golden then.
You are not alone. I am the same and many of my friends are the same as well. We send each other an SMS and then we meet in person for drink or dinner. When I call my parents, I use VOIP, even though they do not have a PC. Using one of thes is cheaper when calling international: http://www.backsla.sh/betamax (And I need to do that if I want to call them)
I top up when I need. I am not a heavy user, so I top up perhaps once every two or three months for 25 EUR. Some people do with even less.
Once a year I look if what I have is still the best deal for me. For now it is. The moment it isn't, I change operators (or just reseller) and get to keep my number.
I have an Acer Liquid Metal, because I could get it very cheap about two years ago. 30 EUR or the like. Many people still use their old Nokia from several years ago. Indestructible and a battery life smart phone users can only dream of. (I am well aware that they are limited to phoning and SMS)
If this one breaks, I will just use my Nokia 3210 again.
Youtube is supposed to paywall some premium content soon, which is fine.
Well, we do not really know what they consider premium content, but I think the idea is great as it will make people more aware of other sites that host cat videos.
Yet a lot of people I meet or see are tools as well. Most of those also have something that only simulates a "free will", but in reality have no idea what "free will" means and think it means "The freedom to do whatever I please." or even more dangerously "People who do not do the same as I do have no free will."
Luckily law has already covered that. The first for those with a load of money and the second, well, uh, for those with a shit-load of money.
I was thinking more in the line of Journalwikipedia.org where people could publish under Creative Commons. And then others can review it and those reviews will be public too.
From a technical point of view, this should not be too hard. The hard part will be to be taken seriously and get some importand names on board.
And they have been lied to on several occasions. This by misleading people about the risks.
There will be always a few people who are stoopid and do not understand what they are doing. However if everybody or such a large number of people is affected, you know it isn't the people that are wrong. It is something else and in this case it is the banks.
So why do people vote again?

It is the basic difference between being a leader and being a manager. https://www.stephencovey.com/7habits/7habits.php

Well, of the top of my head, the killing of millions of people. So I would say, not so good.
Mod that as funny.
Sure, there are some, perhaps even many, but most? Nah.
(I can take the down mods. I have Karma to burn)
Patent Troll sees opportunity.

Great idea. I hope they do that where I live as well.
That idea is a marketeers wet dream cum through.
